Title: HT... one for the suggestions box.
Post by: Vulcan on May 20, 2001, 11:09:00 PM
Games got to the stage (ie lotsa people lotsa stuff happening) where it be cool to have something like a Lysander for Pilot Recovery. IE picking up bailed/ditched pilots.

It'd add some incentives
1) to bailing
2) to ditching
3) to shooting chutes (and give the chute-shooteree's something to really whine about!  (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/biggrin.gif) )

Plus I think there'd be quite a few people who'd like this sorta stuff.

Ain't it amazing the ideas ya come up with on the crapper?

HT was asked about this for carrier ops. You know, a PT or PBY flown by a player to rescue pilots and there by get some kind of reward like a change in stats or (ewwee) perk points. HT didn't think there was a real "market" for it and has no plans to implement it.

It's tough enough to get someone to fly a goon to a base for capture, and you get 12.5 bomber perks for that.

How are you going to get someone to come pick you up in the middle of a hot engagement zone?

This would be awesome for scenarios though. One life only and if you get shot down, no next frame flying for you until you get rescued.

Better hide in the sage brush though.. them chute shooters abound  (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/smile.gif)

One thing that seems to be a constant with HTC is to get people in the air.  Having a system that delays a player from replaning is not such a good thing.

I do, however, like the idea... but it would be something I wouldn't like to see in the MA.  Scenarios and such could use this feature (plane).
