Awesome game, but playing against the computer is repetitive. Have yet to try multiplayer.

Soul Calibur 2 on the GameCube
Best fighting game ever made.

Halo on the XBox
Overrated. Levels are overly repetitive. Fun game, but definetly not worth its A+ status.

What I will be playing a few weeks from now:

Call of Duty for PC, Viewtiful Joe for the Gamecube, and Panzer Dragoon Orta for the XBox.

And Maverick, use buttloads of cloak generators to conceal an entire fleet that penetrates the sphere. Take your cloaked fleet inside, blow up the target, get the fug out of there.

Alternately, you can do what I did the first time I played this mission. It takes forever, but man it's fun and your fleet will be absolutely huge. Simply draw away a small portion of the sphere at a time with scouts, interceptors, or bombers, and capture the frigates as they chase you around the map. They'll singlemindedly chase your scouts to the far corners of the map, not diverting even as their ranks are whittled down by your salvage corvettes. Rinse and repeat until you've captured all the frigates, or captured a large enough hole in the sphere to take a fleet in without it getting pounced on.

The reason I have no sympathy for the people who whined about Hitech's response to the lame complaints is because I have seen Sony's presence on their forums. They lock every tech support issue immediately after not-answering it (to get it off the front screen), I haven't seen them fix an issue for someone yet, and they jerk everyone around incessantly.

For the past few days, I get a pop up every time I enter PS asking if I want to pre-order Core Combat, the new pay add-on that's coming out. EVERY TIME I open it. Also, every time I open the launchpad it does a re-scan of all my PS files. It does this for everyone. It's a 5 minute process. A bug. They released a big patch on Friday right before going home. It's been broken all weekend, and they don't seem to care. They haven't pulled the patch, they haven't responded to a single thread in the forums, etc.

...but like some dumb masochist girl, I keep going back. There's something awfully satisfying about playing Mujahadeen out in the middle of nowhere and blasting unsuspecting aircraft out of the sky with my MANPAD.

Thanks for the help. I did the capture thing as I was short on funds. I sold a BUNCH of frigates but kept about 6 and the destroyers, cruiser and CV. :) I even captured the harvester and controler vehicles. I think after seeing the mess in the second mision following I am gonna need them all. :eek:

Post by: Jack55 on October 20, 2003, 02:01:14 PM: Freedom Force. I bought it for $9.99 from the bargin bin. It is fun, but there is no friendly AI. So the player has to work all the frendly characters at once. I'm not good at speed clicking. So I tend to use one character at a time.

You scrapped them? You're missing out... a wall formation of 87 (I think that's how many I had) captured Ion Frigates is mighty impressive. :D Although the formation does take forever to get itself turned around and pointed at a target, when it does... BOOOOOOM. Heavy cruisers went up after a single volley. :D

beta tested it, my computer sucked....so it was no fun.

I also hated waiting 10-15 minutes for the transport pilot to take off and go to a battle.

Now that i got a new putter i might buy it and try it out again, also i want to see if they fixed all the bugs from beta. I noticed it came with a 30 day free trial.....so if i dont like it it will end up on the shelf with Dark age of Camalot and AC2.

I never got past that map either... lost interest because I tried so many times and uninstalled the game.

HW2 is an absolute blast. I dont enjoy the single player as much as I did in the first game, but the multiplayer is fantastic. As with all games of this type, you think your top dog after beating up on the computer, and then some pimple faced 14 year old wipes the floor with you and shouts things like 'j00 a3r t3h pwnd!'

Unfortunately, gamespy is the only connection meathod for HW2 and its buggy. Even so, its alot of fun.
