What are default keys.. and what do they do..
and when are they effective.

Q = Low flaps
W =Raise Flap
Shift + C = Drive Brake
combat flaps= once heel flaps down

try to turn in a p-15 with one heel of flaps down and not u will see
the difference......u can manouvre better, turning in a short circle
same in a drive, if your plane have a drive brake, u can manouver
better , drive stabilizing the speed (j88 j87), raise the maximum speed of compression.

I'm not trying to be derogatory in any way, but allow me to make it easier to understand.
P-15= P-51, j88=Ju-88, j87..Ju87
The advantage of using one to two notches of flaps in combat is that lowering flaps gives you more available lift, but adds drag which slows you down and makes it harder to accelerate.
Dive flaps work in the way described, they work by changing the way the air flows over the wing and in turn increases the speed at which compression occurs and I believe the P-38 flaps will help to gradually pull you out of compression but I'm not sure (AKAK?). Use dive flaps during or coming out of a dive, but I have never been able to tell the difference with them down or up.

The P-38 dive flaps give you a small measure of control once overspeed. If your plane is properly trimmed having the dive flaps out also seems to let the P-38 dive a little bit faster (I've hit about 500mph).
Many american planes (P-38 included) have combat flaps. All this means is that you can deploy a notch or two of flaps at a much higher speed then usual.
Deploying combat flaps at the right moment is crucial for fighting in american planes. Not only does it increase lift allowing you to turn faster, but it increases drag which can help decrease your turn radius. This is why american planes seem to do so well initially when going into a scissors maneuver.
