Anyone have any idea how to map the rotary knobs for the saitek x45. I have tried to figure out how to map these using the ingame settings, but they seem very limited. I really do not like having that combat trim setup and really am used being able to trim the elevator and ailerons myself using the rotary knobs.

Hi
I run my X36usb with Saitek SGE 3.0 in Win98se.
I use Band program feature for rotarys: Map and View +/- zoom's.
Elv. & Ail. Trims are in mousestick and rudder trim is in throttle rocker. No problems here.
You should tell more about your PC (Windows & Saitek driver).

All I wanna do is map the elevator to rotary knob 1 and the ailerons to rotary 2. I have no idea how to do this with this game's mapper. I run win xp and the latest saitek driver. I really hate this combat trim stuff and would like to be able to control my trim myself.
Can it not be done without having to use the programming software that comes with the x45? Is this game's setup limitd in what it can band?

AH dont support analog trim inputs like IL2FB do.
Rotary Band programing means that, you split rotary moving area to the three or more sectors. Then you define commands to those sectors. Command can one down&up KEY stroke with defined down time in ms. You can also define command so that KEY is down untill you return rotary knob back to the center where is the neutral sector ie no command.
I try this trims to the rotary knobs setup three years a go to my X36usb and find it out bad for me.
I recommend trims to the throttle mousestick & rudder rocker system.

you have to band the rotors into three bands.
check out my profile HERE (http://www.pogbird.com/X45/ACESHIGH_X45.zip) for an example
I use the rotors for aileron and rudder and the throttle rocker rudder for elevator trims - have CH pro peds for rudder

Hello Eagler,
Is bandprogramming possible with saitek drivers? Thought you needed XD-profile for it.

I use only the Saitek drivers from their website and band the rotors with no trouble
running XP now but did it in Win98 also

Eagler, I tried to go to your web site to check out your x45 profile and it does not seem to work.
