No photos, but some really tasty snacks I've tried:
Buttermilk 'n cornbread;
Buttermilk 'n Freetos (if cornbread not available);
Your favorite hot sauce 'n saltine crackers (with or without sardines);
Nachos (see photo above).

I dont eat snacks. And when I do, I'm a total snob, much to the disgrace of my squad. Thin slices of fresh salmon with cheese crackers, and a good bottle of red wine.

Its wise to leave half for later. Its needed for the terrible hangover that will come from the accompanying Polish vodka and beer.

That's not being "a total snob." It's called "being a total homosexual."

-
doritos and salsa sauce or cheese sauce
-
anything within arms reach
-
Toss all this into a food processor:
1/2 onion
about 1 teaspoon Cumin
about 1 teaspoon kosher salt
2 roasted and peeled jalapenos
1 habanero (or less if you're squeemish)
1/4 cup of fresh cilantro
garlic - depending on your need for close contact in the near future.
1 can stewed tomatoes - (you can stew your own, but why bother?)
Mix it up until its salsa... get some good mexican chips and the drink of your choice.
-
trail mix?
-
Some Saucisse sèche d'Auvergne/saucisson/chorizo (or some Kabanos when I can find some) + a glass of red wine.
Some cheese + fresh bred is fine too :)

Olives, tomatos and salami or bacon, cheese and grapes and a bottle of wine (white in summer, red in winter).

That sounds good MT.:aok
Bet it would be good on a steak or Mexican grilled chicken. Or pepper steak with noodles, and the salsa on top.
One Habanero will go a long way, but cooking it will remove a lot of the heat and make it edible.
Try dehydrating a couple pounds of habaneros after removing seeds, then put them in the food processor to make powder. Put that in a 4 ounce shaker and you're good to go for soup, spaghetti, and hot catsup for fried fish.

I know. I once went to a restaurant for dinner with a friend. I guess we were early(20:00) Because they didn't serve any dinner and we went to their bar instead for a few drinks. And then the Tapas started coming.....After 2 hours we were totally full and wasted. Can't remember what happened later but the credit card bill was only 20€ for both of us...not bad.

That hardly qualifies as a snack, not when you are talking gigantic slices of "pa de pagès" :D
Quand viens-tu, finalement? :)
