Title: Check your fans!!

After a major crash & restart in AH2 my framrates droped to less than 1/2 of what they were b4. No amount of tweaking, even reloading xp didn't help. Finally I opened my case & found both my mobo & vid card fans had stoped. After replacing them with larger fans my fps is higher than ever. :)  


System is AMD 2400+/G4 TI 4200/KT400(GA-7VA) mobo/512M ddr


  New test results with v-sync off

1     59fps@49.0
2     58fps@46.1
3     73fps@44.6
4   102fps@41.7
looking up in tower  326fps@41.1

tnx...have to let my friend know....he's got same sys. as you, but with 1.3 gig ram

that should part of everyone's routine maintenance ...

I check and clean my fans every two weeks .. Along with anytime i hear a different noise coming from my pc i open it up and look .
