Those value books always seemed just too good to be true.  When I first bought a beany or two, just cuz a few looked cool, one i had was that polar bear one.  Sadly, the dog chawed on him and apparently he was the most valuable.  Dog thought it tasted just like the others :)

My friend made a mint selling these buggers back and forth,oh, in 98?  I thought the craze was over and done.

I remember a scam that was going on a few years ago whereby a well-published card collector was releasing books showing the value of certain baseball cards.  Turns out that there was an eery coincidence in that the higher-rated cards happened to be the ones of which he had a lion's share of the market.

Meanwhile, I'll be sure to Search under the "used car" category for "Porsche", "Jaguar", and "BMW".   Maybe I can find a disgruntled spouse looking to unload a spare automobile taking up space in the garage!  :aok

I love E-bay.

Check out this one.  I about fell out of my chair over this one.

High class cruiser (http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=2432601336&category=6256)

I wonder if he ever got the money for the car.

Notice that no feedback has been left for that "cruiser" auction.  I wonder what the result was.

Dear Sir,
We at Garrett Turbo are most honored and happy that you selected our turbo as part of the performance package for this fine racer. We take pride in our product and we believe that our turbos, like this fine racer, are the best in the market. Therefore, we would like to offer you a substantial sum of "sponsorship" money. The only thing we ask is to "Please removed our company sticker from the windshield!"
Thank you
From the Chairman and CEO, Garrett Turbo

LOL!  The ad was good... the responses were great.  Amazing how many ricers out there told this guy he didn't know ****.  I personally liked the "Timex Tach" with the hour, minute and second hands on it.

LOL! he's sold 1.  I do like the "give me money to buy beer" aspect he threw in there.  But... it's much better just walking up to someone and telling them to give you their wallet or you'll step on their toe.  You get more money and more beer.

My son-in-law made about $30K one year trading them and other collectibles while working his way through college. My granddaughter now has a room full of the ones he had when the bottom fell out.  :D
