the way the small maps are,
please combine akdessert and bigisles so that I dont have to stay in dueling arena and ct to find a fight for two solid weeks.

Well its obvious this whine about cant find a fight is pure bunk. Again today fights have been raging all over the map. So whats your reason for whining about the pizza map? I really dont get it! Fights of every description. Some fights that dont wane for hours! Lots of milkrunning like fester likes! Tons of cvs! Its the best strategist map in the inventory? You guys just bent (drunk) or what?

Ig they ever fix the fuel resupply imbalance, I may look at playing it again.
Of course, you can still sometimes find a decent CV fite for the early planes to particpate in.

There are many of us that really enjoy the strat of the "Pizza" Map.
The multiple fronts available, as opposed to all save for possibly the ilses map leads to a lot of strategy IMO.
I cannot see where this map lacks fights unless you need all bases less than 25 miles apart.
Leave the map rotation as it is.

Pizza map has always been one of my favorites, good gv action, big furballs etc.
I seem to find more 1v1 fights on this map as well, but to each his own.

I like pizza, I just wish it rotated away after someone resets it. A whole week of it I just find ...draining.

What I don’t like about AKDesert is simple. There are too many GV spawns. And like Big Isles I’m thinking the V bases should be airbases. I hate the color but that’s me. I can never see the dots or icons on that thing.
I like the canyons in it though. Besides Mindanao it’s one of the best terrains to use against an opponent.

Exactly there are no 'fights' if wanted 1 on 1's i could play H2H all night.....
Pizza sucks .... anythings with less pizza I'm for ... Big Isles i don't know about .. haven't had week where it's on that I can really play much.
Anyway putting Em' together just means being FAIR to people who like the smaller maps too.
I'll be playing IL2 until friday..... when Pizza is gone ...

I was on for several hours yesterday. The rooks kept pressing higher and higher altitudes. Finally, the fight was up to 35k. I have a hard time going that high but most of the guys up there dont know how to use altitude once they get it. So even though I was outnumbered ten to one I was landing my kills without taking a single hit.
At the same time there was a cv below us the entire time. A low furball ensued on both sides of the cv. People were seeing lockups due to all the cons in the area. Yeah. No fights on this map move on!
Zipputah get a new graphics card quick! If you cant see the dots now when AH2 comes out your dead!

35K! Ok, I’m an alt monkey, but rarely do I pass 20 and my preferred is 15 and when the squad is around I might get 10.
But 35?
As for the dots, psssstt… when your low to the terrain, the aircraft camouflage works pretty good against the backdrop. At 35K though, you don’t have to worry about it as much.

35k Jugs are pretty common for rooks. After their first pass though their neutered. The 152s were more bothersome but useless if you know how to defeat their effectiveness. 190D9s are more effective but few people that go that high know how to use them. I got as high as 27k before having to step carefully. Once I equalized E it was fun slowly working down the numbers.
Camouflage? What difference does that make with an icon ten times larger than your plane?

Icons drop from 6 to 3k when you’re at the right altitude above the ground and against similar backdrops.
Although I can see how you wouldn’t know that being at such high altitudes all the time. ;)

Because the fuss is not community wide, but from a relative handful of about 100 guys out of a total subscribership of many thousands - a vociferous minority on the BBS. Last night when I logged in, there were 12 in the CT and 371 in the pizza-MA. That confirms that the BBS does not represent the majority view, or that people want to fly their favourite ride but it's not available in CT. Either way, the situation stats are inconclusive, and a popup poll at logon is the only accurate way to gauge support for each map or set of maps.

Well said beet1e. The mental circle jerks these fellows are engaging in only serves as a slant to their own agenda. Its obvious what they want is an arena with fewer players all engaging in the circle jerk. I dont know how they plan to eliminate bnz but Im sure they will find a way to whine about that too.

Actually, I've had some fun in a Spit V on the deck down low doing a NOE fighter sweep near an enemy base. The base starts blinking, the enemy starts upping, they look around, "Where is he? Anybody see anything?" Boom boom. Tower. You just gotta know the terrain, the aircraft paint, and the art of camoflaging your icon. ;)

actually camo can be quite usefull (especcially against the colours of pizza) because that giant icon can be difficult to see against the desert unless your icon colour is set to a purplish sort of colour

No it isn't... He is still paying for that week for a game that he doesnt consider fun to play. A problem solved? right. How bout we take some of this massive bandwidth we have for the MA and divote a smaller measure for a AKdesert server only. Then we let the likes of beetle, megatron, BUG, and other fly it all they want. I figure w/ 10 folks in AKdesert the mean flight time will be about 45mins for 1 fight. Just how most those guys like it IMO (it aint humble).
Perhaps that is a little too far, but what we dont have is much of a choice. In my mind, that is the argument in the end. HTC with their all knowing deems the customer to play here or HERE. Not much else there. I could be wrong but in the olden days of AW was offered at least 6 different areanas?? Pretty much all full too as i recall. Some where identical i know but I think most can sum where Im going with this. Diversity is the spice of life?? I've heard that somewhere. Keep the CT if we must. Although i never see numbers there, I'm sure that it must be loved by some. But offer something substantial for the rest of us while the likes of a abhorred map such as akdessert is up. Its only fair. WE ALL pay for this service.

Maybe give ALL the small maps their own server and let them rotate. Call it the mini-MA w/ full plane sets.. Big maps in the MA would be no trouble then as we, the customer, would have a CHOICE of how, when, and where. Seems simple to me. If your business can make more folks happy, does that not equal growth?

The idle bandwidth in the SEA most nights would be perfect for the Small Map MA rotation. The regular MA could rotate the big maps and then folks would at least have yet another choice no matter what they favored.

Well I think that an arena set up to rotate the small maps is a fine idea..its up to HTC to detirmine if it is feasable.
My point is that I personally like AKDesert, I dispise Big Ils and dont really care for Trinity that much, but I still pay the charges when my least favorite maps are on just like everyone else and I am not about to propose that things be changed to fit my likes and dislikes.
Learned long ago that the world does not revolve around me.

Well, Cit... you know what they say - don't wish too hard, you might just get what you're wishing for. In your case, you're asking for Pizza and Big Isles to be in the rotated in the same week. Well, you got your wish - Pizza gave way to Big Isles today as map rotation took place. Hehe - Pizza then Big Isles - on the same day. :D:D
