Really? I've been using it forever, never noticed it.
Just noticed little red underlines on my made-up words since I upgraded to 2.0 this morning.
like frimple, slaptabulous and chilitastic.

Oh ya. He is not the only one that can use that! :)

C:\Documents and Settings\\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\4tasfveq.default\persdict.dat
the 4tasfveq.default might be random, but it's the only directory under Profiles in my installation.

Dictionary is for definitions. not spelling.
Think about it. You typically need to know how to spell a word just to look it up in the dictionary ;)
-
I always thought the mistakes were intentional so you would know if someone steals your material.

Apparently you are to young to have been told by your parents, when THEY didn't know how to spell it, to "go look it up" because that is the same thing I always thought, too. "How?" :huh
That said, if people need spellchecker as much as it appears here and most places I have seen, I am saddened by the state of it. My spellchecker took 12 years to install, is nearly flawless, and has a built in feature that instinctively tracks down the correct spelling when there is a question. It must not be available anymore, which is too bad, as it is a great program, especially taking into account the constant free upgrades available daily.
Do I make mistakes? Of course, we all do, especially when typing like I do, looking at the keys not the screen. I try to go back and correct the mistakes, though. Spellchecker is yet another reason education has taken a failed turn; because too many people rely upon it instead of referring to it.

Dunno. Matter of pespective I guess.
is 45 too young? LOL
But yea. I used to be told the same thing.
I gave them the same responce too ;)

volvo744: I do not believe you really understand how it is impossible for some of us to spell correctly.
To put it in a perspective you can understand, in my first sentence I had 6 misspellings, none of which I am able to spell correctly. I could look them up, but tomorrow I would still not be able to spell them correctly. So for me to write that one sentence correctly would take at least 5 minutes of checking a dictionary.
Remember the 20 words you had on your spelling test each week? For me to get passing grade required me to spend 3 hours the morning of the spelling test going over the words. If i took the test again 1 week later, there was no way I could again pass.
Not griping, just things are what they are.

Too bad there aren't grammar checkers in toolbars or browsers. There are way too many people using words such as to instead of too or your instead of you're among others.

HiTech,
I hope you don't infer from my original post that I was making fun of you for your spelling in any way, like some of these dingleberries are. I wasn't.
-
Some people stutter when they talk, but can sing like angels.
HT stutters when he types. As long as he can still write stuff what makes my cartoon airplanes fly, I'm not complaining.

Thank you sir Hubs :rofl
