Title: MISSION REQUEST
Post by: thedudee95 on April 11, 2008, 06:54:39 PM
i was wondering if anybody can make a mission where there is a 10 v 20??

5 153's and 5 262's vs 10 b24's and 10 p51's

that would be awesome.

map could be bob4.

p.s. can u make the ai not bail after like 3 shots, becuase on most of my missions, the zi bails way to soon, 3 shots on a lancaster, bye bye.

if u can make it, please do

You can't make it so the AI bails unrealistically.

It will take a while longer, sorry. There are issues I trying to work around with the ME right now and it's proving rather problematic. I am working on it, and will post as soon as it works properly. Don't forget this is a Beta release and will have some issues that need to be addressed.

Thanks for your patients and understanding,
Baumer

Have you tried making it yourself? It would be easier than bugging a busy guy...just saying.

Give us an idea of what your attempts are or are not doing and maybe we can help you get it going. Then you will learn how to make the missions that you want. Many of us have probably had the same issues. I know it took me several hours to figure out all the things I did wrong on my first few missions.

Give us a try I bet we can help.

Ok, i think i have found my trouble with making a mission, its the breifing room.

I puto n the routes, mission is set up and flights are up.

the problem, when i start the mission ingame, is that it goes to that breifing room in the barracks, and notihng happens.

i press esc and the clipboard comes up with restart mission, cancel mission, and other stuff.

Can anybody help me???

Here it is.

http://332nd.org/dogs/baumer/thedudee95.zip (http://332nd.org/dogs/baumer/thedudee95.zip)

It's on the bob04 map

5 Ta152's and 5 Me262's vs 10 B-24J's and 10 P-51D's

Good Luck,
Baumer

Have you downloaded any of the other missions yet and do they work ok. I would say the first thing I can come up with to make sure of is that when you lay out the route you need to make sure that you click o n the fill to end and then click calculate for every segment and waypoint. This is usually the first mistake everyone makes since the tutorial does not tell you to do this (not that I have seen).

If this does not work post the mission here and I or some of the other guys can try it and let you know what to change. Lot's of helpful people here.

the dudee95,

I know Baumer made the missions that you asked for but......

I think it would be beneficial for you to figure out how the mission editor works so that you will be able to change and/or make your own missions. My guess is that these missions that Baumer made won't last you forever and you will feel the need for new ones. By attempting to fix the ones that you started you will learn how to make your own. Help is here when you need it and most people her are willing to help. Which would you rather do

continue to ask someone to do it for you and ask someone to go out of their way to do something you could learn how to do on your own.

or

you could take what you have started and attempted already and learn from it and get help with fixing the problems. In the process you will be learning how to make your own and can then contibute by posting a few of your own missions.

Just my opinion.

Question though did you try the suggestion I made earlier about clicking the fill to end and calculate buttons to see if this worked. If it didn't then post what you got here and most people here including myself are more than willing to help troubleshooting (as a matter of fact a great many people here crave the oppurtunity). The more people that contribute the more variety there is for all to enjoy this awesome new feature.

Title: Re: MISSION REQUEST

Did you do the fill to end and calculate for all the segments? If you did this then post your mission and I will take a look at and see if I can figure out what is going on.
Title: Re: MISSION REQUEST
Post by: thedudee95 on April 22, 2008, 07:36:34 PM
Yes, i did fill it end to end and i did calculate for all.

I set some off them to taxi, takeoff, cruise and last, attack.

When i started the mission ingame, it crashed..not the game, the plane, in the textvar it says "you have crashed".

Wat should i do now?

So now that i got my mission stuff straigh and i can make 1(yey), how can i make hte planes warp or teleport to a specific location, like hte merging place ot dogfight quicker, and take the player with them?
Title: Re: MISSION REQUEST
Post by: dkff49 on April 22, 2008, 08:07:32 PM
in your segment properties you will see a checkbox for warp segment. check this then check how you want them to warp. make this the segment before the fight. mine is the segment immediately after take off. You can also warp to your landing the same way. Just make the warp the segment right after your last attack segment.

Let me know if this is clear. This is the best I can think of to tell you.

Another thing you can try is to open one of the other missions and look at the warp segments that others have used.

New Question: How do u make them change countries?

I ran the mission, and when the merge came, the AI was color green(ally)and nobdy was attacking.

So wat can i do?

At the top of the mission properties page you will see a radio button for Bishop or Knight. Makes sure that the mission takes off from the appropriate countries airfield. Currently there is no option to use the Rook country.

...ok so i put the thigny to knight on the mssion property.

It didnt work..

First, when i started the mission, i started the enemy planes and i was getting shot at by ack.

Second, the AI doesnt spawn in the right field, i put my lancasters to spawn at the bish base, and me at the knight.

I spawned with them...

Lastly, the AI is allies i really dont know wat to do, please help!!!!
Title: Re: MISSION REQUEST
Post by: dkff49 on April 23, 2008, 05:40:11 PM
All I got is to double check the spawn point in flight properties and make sure that they are set to spawn from the proper field. Or it could be the old "fill Segment to End" and "Calculate" buttons in segment properties.

Other than that all I can say is to post and one ofus can take a look at it. Unless someone else has an idea.
Title: Re: MISSION REQUEST
Post by: thedudee95 on April 23, 2008, 05:43:05 PM
I did that...

I put 1 spawn point on another field.

ANd my spawn point on another field.

When i roll, the AI spaws where i spawn, and they are as allies...

not sure what might be going on here. I have not had that problem yet. If you can post here. If posting is not an option you can use the e-mail feature under my avatar and e-mail the mission to me I will take a look at it for you
Title: Re: MISSION REQUEST
Post by: thedudee95 on April 23, 2008, 05:51:26 PM
Also, when i ran the mission on the editor, the lancaster did come up as enemies.

Im going to try it ingame now.

Not sure if i did change anytihng...

EDIT: same thing happens.

I spawn next to enemy, ack shoots at me.

Enemy AI is still allies when they are supposed to be enemy.

Also, the spawns are at different fields, aso i dont nkow wats happening...

not sure what else to tell you.

I just sent my e-mail to you. Either post the mission here or e-mail it to me and I can look at it for you.

I have a few more minutes I can look at it this evening.

1) Do you have an e-mail account? (I know this may sound dumb but got to ask)

2) do you know how to attach a file to it? (there should be button to click on when you go to the compose screen).

3) did you get the e-mail address from your PM yet?

Post by: dkff49 on April 23, 2008, 07:51:02 PM
I believe we got this figured out now. He actually had the right idea just needed to verify.

For everone else:

Make sure you keep note that Bishop and Knights need seperate missions. New mission within the mission that you are working on can be created by right clicking on the first one and then clicking on add mission. Then you can add the enemy to the first.

Just wanted to post this so if anybody else had same problem then they know where to look.

As far as I know, the only way to do it is to host it on another website, such as http://www.esnips.com (http://www.esnips.com) - I use this for text files (e.g. the mission files, but I think you can upload any sort of file), or for photos I usually use: http://photobucket.com/ (http://photobucket.com/)

Once you've uploaded your photos to a website, just copy and paste a link to the photo into your post.
