Title: Help with CH Pro Throttle Settings
Post by: LBurke6652 on December 31, 2008, 11:13:05 AM

Operating my CH Pro Throttle, it seems that there are only two settings: full throttle (pushed forward) and zero (or minimum) throttle (pulled back) with no gradual increase/decrease as I push forward/pull back.  In other words, all or nothing with no in-between.  My Saitek X52 throttle allowed me to increase/decrease throttle gradually as much as I needed to.  Its gotta be me!  I have to be doing something wrong--or not doing something I need to do--to make the throttle work the way it should.

Referring to the AH2 game controller mapping, under the heading "Controller Input", I have "Z Axis (65535)" and the corresponding "Mode 1 Function" of "Analog Inputs Throttle 1."  For "Y Axis (0)" I have no entry under "Mode 1 Function".  The same is true of "X Axis (65535)".  1.) Do I have the correct Mode 1 Function for the Z Axis?  If not, what needs to be there?  2.) Do I need to have an entry under "Mode 1 Function" for either or both the Y Axis and the X Axis?  If so, what is the correct entry for each?

Any help would be much appreciated.

Select CH Throttle as Throttle 1.  That should clear your problem.  Don't forget Z as the axis. Or SLider.

Thanks for the reply, Hajo. :salute

Your mention of "slider" caused me to remember to check Control Panel/Printers and Other Hardware/Game Controllers.  I saw that I could calibrate the throttle there and didn't recall ever doing that.  Sure enough, I calibrated it there and now it works like a charm.

Now that I have that problem taken care of, is there any point in me using two of my controller buttons for RPM up/down as I have been or would they be better used for something else on the theory--which could be wrong-- that now my throttle serves essentially the same function as RPM up/down?

You're throttle shouldn't be adjusting your RPM but rather your manifold pressure, you can always use something else for RPM which I rarely use except for formation flying or trying to conserve fuel at cruise speed.

I recommend that the CM program from CH be used for calibrating in windows!

I had trouble with my throttle until I installed and used it.

I read on CH's site or a related site that the CM actually contains drivers for the controls.
