Title: Italian JU-88 Pics.
Post by: lyric1 on October 19, 2010, 06:25:42 PM
Some time back in a forum I cant find now? Some one was looking for Italian JU-88 skins I seem to recall. There was an issue about doing one because very little photographic evidence of them was to be found. Well here is two pics that may help.

I looked at skinning an Italian Ju 88 a few years back. However when I researched it the story was that the Italians were still training on the type when Italy changed sides in 1943. The Germans rushed in and confiscated the bombers before they could be used in anger. Later the ANR, the Italian Fascists' air force, used Italian bombers only.

Plus... I would hold off on skinning ANY of the first generation of AH planes, especially the ones that get used in the MA and/or a huge part of most SEA scenarios when the Germans are represented.

(in a nute shell... I see the Ju88 getting remodeled sooner than later)   :aok

I agree that it would be a bad idea for anyone start an AH1 era aircraft skin from scratch, not only are they all likely to be superceded in the next couple of years but they are generally awful things to skin anyway. However if this had been used operationally it would only take me a few hours to skin it as I already have a Ju 88 template. The basic camo is the same as the LW Ju 88s I have done and I'd just have to add the tail and fuselage markings and revise the weathering a bit.

Did not know that. :headscratch: Guess I wont post any more on this if I find anything else. :aok
