But I can think of one player that I'd like to see leave or die. It's that one guy who flies Bishop and claims to have shot down 14 Imperial Japanese Navy planes during the war in a F4F or FM2 (I can't remember which).
He is actually one of the reasons that Jarbo and I left the bish and went Rook.

If you though vWILDCATv was telling the truth then I have a bridge in New York to sell you for cheap. It was proven back then that he was nothing but a liar, anyone with any knowledge of WW2 aviation history could easily spot the lies, like claiming to be a triple ace with 16 kills in a Hellcat, being one of the most highly decorated USN pilots of the war and the kicker, telling the whopper that Thatch himself gave Wildcat his call sign for helping sink a Japanese CV during the Battle of Midway. On top of that, he also claimed to have flown the Dauntless in the CBI. Yeah, he was telling the truth and you sure got a whopper of a history lesson. :rofl

I can vouch for Lusche's story, for I was in one of those French balloons. Interesting story -- I actually was not a balloon observer, but in fact a fighter pilot. I had been in quite a scrap over the area, having shot down another 5 of the Hun, when a 6th got some rounds into my engine. Luckily, I was wearing one of the few parachutes being evaluated for combat duty and was able to bail out. On the way down, the wind pushed me just in position to land in the basket of one of the balloons. I was about to take off my chute and was marveling at my good fortune, when Lusche dove out of the clouds and shot the balloon to ribbons. As the basket was falling, I was able to grab the other occupant, and we floated down to a rougher landing than normal but both survived the drop.

HR taught me the most important lessons I ever learned about these games. He did come to AH when AW died in 12/2001, but didn't like how the flight model compared to AW FR, and didn't stay very long. Haven't heard from him in years.

It's been years since I have been here, I think 3. But I have fond memories of being 15 years old and doing nothing but playing AH. I remember my video card took a shart all over the place and Skuzzy spent many many emails back and forth trying to get me working again :)
And now I am almost 30, married, with a kid... and still love flight sims to this day. Been playing DCS: World A-10C. Got the thrustmaster warthog, trackir, pedals, etc lol. My wife just rolls her eyes.
Funny, decided to peruse the forums and check it out again.

I really enjoyed fighting with many 367th. Kev367th, Ten367th, DH367th, who I see from time to time.
The 71st squad. The JB squad. The BOP. Where the hell did they go?
You know it sucks that Ego gets to people. I get freaking so mad sometimes and talk a bunch of crap, (all in good angry fun so don't take it seriously,) but then I realize that next month it all starts over and I can do something different and practice new things. The game itself is very tough and ganging sucks but it's always different. It's just dying over and over again is part of it no matter how good you are.
I wish some of these old big squads would come back and realize that it's just about going in and getting blown away instantly by ack and even though it angers you like it does me, it doesn't really matter and it's still better than most games because in the grand scheme they all have their faults and will anger you eventually.
So just come back and do what you love and screw it regardless of how stupid the MA can be. That's why I still play even though I get angered many times.

I know jaeger1 is still kicking it and promoting the AvA that’s what I always liked about him and also served on staff for that arena and the Snapshot and FSO teams hence my tag under my name. Jaeger1 and I created the tank wars together after snapshots was not longer and alot of the tank battles were made around the M4 model’s my Grandfather drove during WW2

HTTP was one of the guys that was showing newbies the ropes way back when, enjoyed flying with him.
Onions4U was a squaddie that we all loved, he had a terminal illness and I think he is gone but I have a standing offer to pay his son's subscription if he he wanted to play again. Seraphim was another squaddie that we all really enjoyed flying with. Fridaddy was awesome. Bakus... Citation... Moil... Bombsawy... Hylandr, actually saw him on about a year or so ago. Pigs on the Wing has a 23 year long history and so many people have come and gone it's hard to remember but I miss a lot of them. Then of course there's Silat, not sure what happened with him. BABA, USAGIRL, and some of those Tropical Thunder guys were a ball to fly with if you could stay up that late lol.
