Figrue out what time at night the moon is highest in the sky while being the largest. Then set time to that say 03 0 0 so time freezes. Up your storch and fly it so you are against the moon.

That will be the money shot.

That is why I've been using Greebo's CraterMA offline for the clouds and terrain, and flying with a single drone from a knight base for the friendly photo ops. Snipping the picture from an external frame. I did the combat shots the same way with only two drones in the circuit. Biggest problem is staying aware of the sun and doing to neat stuff while it shines on your plane's upper surfaces.

Whizzy's night time storch shots would be killer with the storch in front of the moon...... :aok

In the attached film file, for every exposed tank, there are about 4 hiding in the shadows under trees and behind buildings. Check the very first tank I lay some rounds on. I flew past him less that 100yds on my right. You can barley see it from ground level to shoot, let alone pull up in time. Welcome to the NDisles Tank Town. I used it as a Hogan Alley on my gunnery terrain. Driving through it is informative about how close you need to get to make out tanks under trees and behind buildings.

It's the little trees you don't pay attention to while missing the 160ft tall trees.

Your images are just showing as thumbnails. Even when I try to view the source they show as very small 180 x 102 thumbnails. The exception was the first image that you showed with M8 overlooking sun streaked water.

Is that a function of your browser, my browser or the bbs, I don't have a clue. Just wondering if I was the only one that has noticed the same?

Are you saving them from a bmp? Some image hosting sites change them because bmp files are very large.

I use the Win7 native snipping tool which by default saves to jpg format. I have an account with "Postimage.org" and all uploads are tagged: Do not resize my image. It is possible I've posted so many of these now that I have hit some restriction in the forum that forces my full sized image down to a thumbnail. Or maybe Skuzzy has placed a restriction on images from: s20.postimg.org

Post by: bustr on January 29, 2016, 07:22:14 PM: I'm writing this from Firefox, and for me on my 24inch monitor, the image scales correctly and is not blurry.

I have posted some of these to Facebook and have seen HTC post some to the HTC Facebook account and in both cases the images are what I post here. If HTC was having problems, Skuzzy would be the first to ask me to check what the heck I think I might be doing on my end.

Are you gents checking these on smart phones or small tablets by any chance?

Weird. I am using Pale Moon and all the images look fine. I am not seeing the little image you guys are talking about.

IE might cause an issue due to the way it deals with the net site coding standard in its currently supported versions. Firefox should be standard, but I don't know what it does if you've copied all of the IE settings during the installation of it. That said, I'd start by resetting Internet Options/Advanced/Reset (https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/923737) either from the Control Panel or through IE/Settings. Resetting the other browser after that wouldn't hurt. Firefox being in question, this tutorial (https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/refresh-firefox-reset-add-ons-and-settings) even has a button to do it instantly.

Thumbnail of the Betty link worked. The Betty is large "viewable" size. None of the Hellcat images are "viewable" or thumbnail links, only small images.

Importing bookmarks/favourites and passwords is up to you, they don't affect the functionality. IE has functionality issues with some webpage coding due to Microsoft bullying when IE was the biggest browser.

I have no problem seeing anyone else's image other that yours from that image posting site. The thumbnail that you posted of the Betty worked fine, as it should. The other images, including this last one, DOES NOT.

In other words, my image tags do not seem to be a problem, only those tags that do not seem to reflect on my browser / or forum :headscratch: in the way that others appear to be.

Rather annoying, as I would very much like to see what images you have there.

On my screen they've been of same size all of the time which made your question there seem weird.

1) I am NOT the only one who sees different sized images, and 2) this only happens when trying to view "most" of the images that Bustr has posted.

Yes, I did as suggested and tried to look for settings and eventually reset them for my browser, and still no difference.

I will let it rest for now, as I plan to do a full wipe of my hard disk due to damaged files. Until, I have the time to get all that straight, maybe Skuzzy or someone else could figure out why I only have the problems with images from Bustr / image hosting site that was chosen.

Beyond that, I have never seen this type of problem before.

Open the Microsoft Internet Explorer "Tools" menu and choose "Internet Options." When the Internet Options dialog box opens, click on the "Advanced" tab. Scroll through the Settings box to the Multimedia section. Select the check box in front of "Show Pictures" if it is not already. All I got.

Someone pointed out the thumbnail is being generated along with the full sized image file in some cases. I'm only linking a full sized image file with no thumbnail.

Some of this I'm clipping with the Win7 snipping tool from the terrain editor or the flim viewer. Others of it I'm using Paint.Net to open the screen capture bmp then save as a jpg. I'm being hosted at Postimag.org.

Skuzzy and company are seeing a full sized linked image.

The only difference is on the download from my host, the compression method is changed. No matter the file I upload, from my HOST on the download, the compression method is changed to the same readout shown at the bottom when I analyze the downloaded jpg file.

Maybe skuzzy can make sense of this for your browers that default the file to a thumbnail.

Bustr, try using the bulletin board image facility to attach the images and see if that helps. There may be something odd with the responsive template causing the problem for some people, at that place you are using to host the images.

Skuzzy and Bustr, the following is in no way aimed at you guys (just my reality), but my tolerance for fixing things has hit its limits: I finally found the root cause keeping my work truck from starting. After months, a tow, and mechanic fees, it turns out to be the "stop engine motor". :rolleyes: Yes, my truck needs a motor to stop the motor... :bhead and when that motor decides to stop, the other motor does not start. :furious

Lucky, that I found a diagram and began talking to the old heads :old: It was very close to selling old girl, or worse, spending near 3 to 4 grand on a fuel pump injector that I wouldn't have needed.

It's not that. I have tried to duplicate it with every browser out there. I really think it has to do with the WEB site getting confused as to what the resolution of the computer monitor is and is automatically resizing the images as if the computers were phones.

I uploaded one of the pics that they are having this problem with to Photobucket, which is having horrible problems now and why I'm using Postimage. I can install Photoshop CS2 just for them, or zip up the jpegs but, is it me or them when so many don't have an issue? I'm using very basic windows tools and Paint.net to create these files.

The skin won't matter after a screen capture for a photo op. And for an ahf film playback, it defaults to the default skin if you don't have the same skin already on your system. Same for gunsights, hmmm the AH3 default gunsight Waffle keeps including is a real PITA looking thing. Now after Easycore smacked me, any film I post from my terrain, the version of the terrain used for the film is always one of the attachments since it's small enough.

I guess for the few who's browsers are getting confused, I'll include a zip file with the jpg in original format from Paint.Net or the Win7 snipping tool.

Just right click on the URL link to the image and save a copy of it, then edit your original post, and use the IMG tag in the bulletin board editor to embed the image.

This is a test using the poster jpg I created called rides10.jpg. I used Photo Shop to save it as another name, then decoded the jpg. PS includes thumb nail info along with the header decoding being about 2x my other programs jpg generated files header info. The PS generated file has only a single compression signature from Adobe Photoshop.

I will attach it here using IE, then img tag the download link in my next test post to see what happens on my end.

If someone thinks they could do a breif AVI video taking advantage of showing this stable, the terrain is attached. Change all the drones to jeeps, then turn off icons. Otherwise I'm scrubbing those off the parent terrain. I included the storch because of the close relationship it has evolved with our GV. Hope Hitech includes a few more spotting planes in the future.

After I convert all of the historic reticles to a "Bright Pack" version that gives the illusion of a brilliant over glare at full alpha slider. I was thinking of capturing some number of them while moving the alpha slider min-max and putting together an AVI presentation with Bandicam.

If the answer is yes, then next I have to figure out how to push the right buttons to make the clips and string them together.

Life was so much easier when all we had to do was smack two rocks together to start a fire....... :O

Some of my screen captures were snips from films I setup on a custom terrain or CraterMA offline. Some were from inside of the terrain editor, while some were from offline like yours. You can take the text buffer and push it down completely out of sight. For offline aerial shots I mapped the global screen shot key to a button on my joystick.

Go into options>preferences>GUI and then you can click and drag any of the information on the screen to wherever you desire.
