In the TE, when adding the umbrellathron, it crashes the TE. I don't know what other shapes might also do this.



I was looking for, but haven't found the new small airfield.
Do we have a shape name for it?

Offline set head position for different views in VR with F10. Views worked for flight but didn't save. Next flight back to old head positions.

F4U 1A and the -4 sounded like the motors were turning like 10000 rpm, was higher with wep. Didn't try the other ones. Someone said their N1k was doing the same thing. When my squaddie was speaking to me his name was showing up in red, the same as other people.

The 'down times' indicator for Map Room doesn't change states when the flag goes white and Map Room is ready for capture.  The map room only actually goes down for a second in the transition from troop capture and capturing country assignment then resets the map room.

Is it possible to change that indicator to the Flag or have Map Room indicator show a down status at white flag ?

Video shows the issue, evident when leaning and looking back.  I have not flown many other aircraft at this point so cannot say if it is a common issue.

When in VR and a dialog comes up requiring a ok or cancel, you have to hit the OK repeatedly to get the dialog to close. This is true for both the mouse and the joystick button mapped to the mouse. The OK rapidly blinks. I usually try many clicks or long clicks but it will eventually close. Examples are key mapping, joystick button mapping and film saving yes or no. This is with cv1. This isn't new it has been happening for a while but I kept forgetting to mention as it does work but takes many trys.

Online melee game freeze had to Ctrl-Alt-Del to select Task Manager. Couldn't get to Task Manager. Then fiddled with Alt-Tab to get TaskBar. Finally just rebooted from start button, then got back into flight ok with DX9 version.

Only recorded windows event was an application error, details below.

Splash Damage Bug:

I was wingman locked in my B24's with a squadmate in B17's. 2 Ftr's came in and attacked the 17's but my drone in the 24 blew up and neither of them went after me / put a bullet in me. I think problem is related to Wingman lock / splash damage.

He had 1 drone and his main plane, I had all 3 planes. I think they hit his drone plane and killed it and mine blew up at the same time.

Problem appears to be when wingman locked splash damage occurs.

Double Drone Bug:

When wingman locked flying in formation seeing double drones on wingman locked planes (B17's). See attached screenshots.

Skin Flipping Bug:

Skins are randomly flipping / changing on bombers. See attached screenshots.

Happens on all planes, more often though on the drones. These we're 17's in particular and not sure about the other bombers. Will check later.

VOX ID text is now red for range and channel (not sure about mission).

Red is for bad guys.  Every time someone transmits, I think an enemy icon just popped into view.   :eek:

Left forward quarter of the 262 is very quiet, otherwise it is excellent! I like the whine of the turbines, but I think the jet sounds a little like a rocket.

I have been trying to test external sounds the same way I did in AH2, by loading a film and playing it back. Custom sounds are not being picked up by the film viewer, so this doesn't work.

Training arena air spawns don't work, you launch to the ground.  The town next to A1 needs an elevation adjustment.

Engine sounds for the various hat switch views in an F4U-1A were good except for straight up, which seemed to intermittently go to a faulty sound.

On the current map, using default graphic settings and a FOV of 94 in a M18 tank the graphics stutter in the gunsight while turning the turret at full speed.

Really like the new P-47 sound but still not fond of the P-38 sound but that might be just me.

downloaded new patch everything was ok until I hit tower with Dx11 version then game goes into space and have to reboot the system

While viewing film and panning around the aircraft - engine speed changes drastically.

High while in front of plane looking back, normal on the side, maybe too low from rear.

Possible the doppler effect setting has gone goofy.

 I can also confirm experiencing this issue with B-24s. It also appears that if the plane with the doubled drones are fired upon, the "owner" of the piggybacked drones will receive damage, even though they are NOT being targeted.

Updated DX11, so far no problems. Everything looks and runs great!

Well spoke too soon, it seems the darkening of the gun sight has returned. Difficult to see through it with terrain in the background.

Downloaded AcesHigh3 from web site and dx version 11 installed w/o any problems.  Also settings from AceHigh 2 transferred w/o out any problem.  Wtg Hitech crew!!!!

All vis ranges  shift-f1 thru f4  still say  'not implemented'
In AH3, you have a slider in your Graphics Option tab. The range is from 0.5 miles to 3.0 miles. I wish it was 6 miles but I'm greedy and 3 is what we have.

Coot and I both can confirm this.  Our squaddie Bear and another player took off in 17s.  While flying close to Bear he had a skin chosen but the drones skins were the other players skins.

The drones appeared to be "ghosts"  Bear saw his 3 drones only while Coot and I spotted the piggy back drones.  The other pilot for awhile had no drones as Bear had his.

Could this be connected to the wingman command?  The one that lets you fly in formation with another player and you are just in autopilot letting the lead Bomber fly your set.

Also engine sounds have changed in pitch (radials at least) since this new patch.  Higher pitched over revving sound.

Two few minor things:

- It doesn't look like you can switch terrain for offline. That option is grayed out.

- I was messing around in the Training Arena last night and took up an I-16. Suddenly there was the shadow of 3 bombers floating around. It was positioned around a lone bomber that had crash-landed - but I saw 3 shadows floating around. This may relate to the ghost bomber issue others are reporting. It didn't happen until I took up an I-16 ... maybe a coincidence ... maybe the open-cockpit affects shadow calc's ... who knows?

- In the TA, you have trees all over those target bullseyes - so you can't see where your ord hit most of the time. Break out the FAE's.

Update OK.

Melee: Clouds look OK but they cast a square shadow, much like that cast by a thin slice of tilsiter or havarti type cheese (Baby Muenster).

The shadows are very jaggy and flickery. Am I right to suppose that they are of a much lower resolution or something like that? Anyway, it's kind of disturbing to see a shadow that doesn't know if it should exist or not. In real world shadows on a flat surface are consistent instead of being a dot here and there. See the image, the canopy frames casting shadows on a 110-G2 back seat armor plate.

There's something wrong with the wakes of the fleet, too. Having been on both boats and ships I know that there's a wake expanding on the sides and another right in the back, but the arrows seem too conspicuous in my eyes. I may be wrong, though, I've never looked at ships from a fighter pilot's perspective.

Engine sounds in 110C seem off,right engine is louder than left.

  190A5 engine sounds seem to cut in and out when looking up!

 New TA terrain has several areas that  the terrain is raised,town near A2 and N rw on A2 both show what looks like water but is really a raise terrain.

  Now if I can figure out how to get rid of all the jaggy looking lines I'd be good!  Have AA enabled but gauges,gunsite and canopy frames look terrible.Some A/C seem to have very dark cockpits,flying away from sun they look fine,turn towards it and you cant see any gauges,190 is the worse of them.

  Oh and Icons seem to go from bright to lighter as planes climb and dive in TA,almost like they are flying through clouds but no clouds.

How about moving the opening initialization block followed by the "did you know" block so it does not cover up the opening graphics.  Just would be a bit more impressive.

I had one decent sortie. Then a controller went berserk. I tried restarting game and it would keep crashing my computer after screen freeze. Not a CTD a crash! and reboot. No error message just a freeze and reboot. Im reinstalling game. What else is there to do?

Second!!!! And THIRD!!! Gotta have more detail on the water.....

And in the Melee arena tonight...from about 2100 Central to 2300 Central....pauses in game experienced by multiple squaddies...initial thought was it was being caused by "player skin" getting rendered, but upon disabling that was still experienced.   Might be server related, as it was players in Tx, Fl, CA, and NC that were getting it at near same time.

1- Pickup Missions only displays 1 flight at a time for missions. Remaining flights are blacked out but still selectable.

2- All Vox broadcasts show red.

3- Game environment seems to lighten and darken, I was not the only person this was happening too. The game seems more realistic looking when darker.

4- Large bomber formations seem to share drones, warp drones and other strange things. I posted pictures of this months ago when testing.

When alt tabbing I noticed that Aces High shows up in task manager as a background process   So there are three lists in task manager. The Apps list which is on top and the Background process list which is below that and the Windows processes list which is at the very bottom.  Aces High is showing up as a background process.  I think it needs to show up in the Apps list of task manager to be alt-tabbable.  <--that's a word

It used to go into windowed mode (a couple of patches ago?) when you alt tabbed out and would show up on the task bar as something you could click your way back into. It never showed up on the alt tab task list while alt tabbing. This is on Windows 10.

I can edit a film (cut to the fighting part) but after editing it, if I try to ffwd or pause or do anything else with the newly created sub film it crashes.

The mission pickup list only shows one line at a time. The rest of the lines are there but they are blacked out. If you click on the blackness the next line appears and so on.

people on range vox show up in red instead of purple.

Flying with the Rift, turning my head slightly changes lighting on the wing. See pics.

It's hard to see the water surface in the training arena on the lake by A1. The water is textured but unless the sun is on it it's difficult to judge height.

I was in a tank on tank island when Dobs mentioned this and had the same issue. Every so often the game would freeze for a couple of seconds then resume. Continued until I logged at 12:30am eastern. I'm in IN. Thought it might be my old HD 6950 but FPS were 40-50.

I'm also experiencing slight screen freezes continually in the main arena (ndisles).

Also, during Friday Night Squad Ops in the special events arena1, our group of JU88 bomber drones were acting strange.  Each pilot in our group were seeing all the drones cluttered around one pilot's drones and we were all separated in our primary bombers.   The strange thing was that each pilot saw the cluttering of drones around a different pilot's drones.  Anyways, it seemed like if the formations got to close to one another, the drones appeared to not stay with their primary plane.

Training arena ports missing something and the clipboard mostly disappears at the port.

Training arena:

All the Ports are under water.

All the towns I checked are also too low, they don't match the surrounding terrain, (A6,12...)
It's easier to check the rest of the towns in the TE.

Most of the fields and strat that I checked seemed okay, but anything on the coast at sea level needs to be rechecked i.e. DarFac at

tunable channels and range channel show up in red when someone talks so you cant tell if its local or someone on channel please set the vox colors back to where they was

A graphics setting:

In the hangar, the white text (flight time display when selecting fuel loadout) is unreadable on the white hangar floor.

This was on whatever terrain was in FSO (Crimean Catastrophe) last night.

updated no problems.

Mossie 6,  engines at idle, descending, did not sound like they were at idle, only winding the RPM from full gave the sound I'd expect.

Occasional screen freezes while changing view and someone talking on vox.

The muzzle flash on the Tiger2, was blinding  << not sure that is a bug.

Saw the clouds do a little spin, from above, but only once over 3 hours.

Cockpit guages very dark, until post lighting turned off.

I think that's where the home F1 combo come in. Not at computer so can't test.

I'm thinking F1 is a typo and the instruction is "to reset the view to default take off the headset, hit home then F10 to save."

This means that F10 should be saving the views until you change them, they should not revert after you end sortie.

May not be the right forum since this is an old problem, but when you set up a custom arena and specify a configuration file at the initial screen, that configuration is not loaded.  It also seems much longer than necessary (several minutes) to upload relatively small files and load the configuration when uploading a configuration file to the host from the CM/arena tables option.

Bailed out last night at an enemy V-base. There was an Osti out firing randomly. As a pilot on the ground trying to find the location of the gun firing, no matter which way I turned, it always sounded like the source was on my left side.

1.Since the last patch I cannot get my track ir to move along the X axis where I can see on the side of the nose like it used to in the bubble canopy planes 190d,190f8,pony, Ta 152 (left side only) and probably others. I can do it if I manually move the head views via the keyboard , but it wont work with track ir; it limits hit way short of where it used to. Please don't leave that screwed  up because it helps to see and track the target in those planes and many of us use it. I see no point in the new "save view in track ir" mode feature, if it is going to limit the views now. Please put it back the way it has been for many years, that is the last thing to mess with.
After further troubleshooting, it turns out the only way to make it work is to save the front view to its default setting, which changes all the other angle views. My default view is set with the head moved forward closer to the cockpit. I don't use the Z axis to move back and forward with track ir because it throws the views off. Now if I look around I am looking at a frame or at my seat, just totally out of whack. Why did you guys have to mess with that in the first place?
2.The game still freezes in dx11 and many people are complaining about it.

Re:  Training area level bombing problem.  We've been discussing this in another area for a while, anyway bombing bulls-eye targets don't display hits (i.e., bomb craters).  No offense, but this bombing area is useless until you fix.  There, I've reported it!

AP rounds passing near trees, not through them, will sometimes explode. Last night I fired at a T34 on a hill that I could see over the top of a palm tree near the hill. My round would have passed 2-3' over the tree but exploded over the tree. I've also had this happening when firing at tanks adjacent to trees or that appeared to be in clear spaces between trees. It's not consistent because I have also killed tanks that are barely exposed behind clumps of closely spaced trees.

Rendering of tracers is not consistent. Last night I could clearly see tracers from GVs firing at planes 2K away but not those of GVs that were very close. I could hear the guns but no tracers.

So I think it is safe to say, it's not us, it is something in the game/server. Numerous post from different individuals on this....

First time this has been seen for me....but also first time I've seen  the AHIII servers have a 200+ load (between FSO and Melee).

Can't ditch on water an anymore. Tried A6M, BF 109K, Sea Hurricane, none worked, instant death

Also, the TA 152H can not belly land even on a runway anymore, It bounces, sheds parts and finally it look like as it would be about to tumble into & below the ground. Then you are back in the tower. Tried it twice in the MA and in a custom arena each.

Issue with the zoom. Let say I slew my head sideway and activate the zoom, the view resets to 'center' then zooms. I have to re-slew my head sideway. (Bug always was in AHIII, works fine in AH2).

Are you clicking "apply" after you set it?  Have you tried setting it in the DX9 version?

Adjusting sounds in dx9 cause me a white screen of death and I have to delete my settings folder to even play... :noid

NDISLES online:

1.  At port 32 I was unable to see enemy CV task group at about 15k from shore battery.  I could see the fire on the cv but none of the ships.  I had all the graphics sliders turned to max.

2.  An enemy pt boat just over 5k away from friendly CV disappears visually and doesn't flash the cv radar, even though he is still there.  He seemed to start the flashing radar when he became visible under 5k away.  Again, graphics maxed.  Love the sounds of the rounds leaving the 8" guns.    :aok

When you exit the game, reset your video settings / FOV and re-enter the game your skin reverts to default and fuel loadout to 25%.

Saw this happen while I was playing as well just a few minutes ago but only saw it 2 times for a split second not back to back.......looked like packet issues across Internet to me......rest of playing time was all good w\ no issues. Holding 79-80 FPS smooth as silk while in flight w\ GPU usage around 58%-75%. Once on the ground FPS dropped down to 65-69 FPS, still smooth but GPU usage hit 99%-100%. GPU clocks @ 1050MHz thruout.

Had a few short duration screen freezes this afternoon.  Lasted less than a full second.  Then, one final freeze near A10.  A CV was in the area and I was dodging flack and then two P47s.  Screen Froze while I was in a dive.  Sound remained constant during the freeze.  I could not alt tab out, nor could I stop the program with task manager.  I did finally get to the point where I could shut down the system with a menu option with the windows key to power down.  This did not happen prior to this update.

I have no flap sound on buffs, up or down. Also when you go to land from a gun, ship or ground you have the red not safe to land, but you get a safe landing.

Training Arena - Air spawns:  Launching places you at the spawn... just not in the air  :D

Checked dive bombing and level bombing spawns... all launch you into the middle of the woods.

I can also confirm experiencing this issue with B-24s. It also appears that if the plane with the doubled drones are fired upon, the "owner" of the piggybacked drones will receive damage, even though they are NOT being targeted.

Happened a couple of times to me too. When in vicinity of another bomber, the drones seems to get mixed up and "mirrored". When drones from one formation gets hit, the drones in the other formation also receives the same damage. Something similar seems to happen from time to time on the TU2, when flying alone with drones. The damage on one aircraft is mirrored on the others.

If you are on Windows 10 I suggest you disable any HDMI audio devices that you are not using (through Device Manager) and through the Sound applet of Control Panel. See if that helps your freezes.

This Friday night n FSO I experienced a vox issue: neither my squad mates nor anyone in range could hear me transmitting. I could be heard by my squad mates on ventrillo. Later I tried it out on AH2, same settings, and it worked fine. Again in AH3, could not be heard. My squad could hear the beep tone, but no voice on squad vox. I use a Corsair wireless headset.

A bug that just happend to me a friendly was flying B-17s an i was attacking TU-2s his drones looked like B-17s for a min and it said i killshot my self and no I do not have a film i forgot to put auto record on  :salute

Landed on a turning CV so it wasn't pretty, and was a bit long. Lifted hook gave it a bit of gas to back up, rolled back and used rudder/brake to line it up. Stopped a few time and got the "rearm in 30 seconds" message but thought I needed to be farther back. Rolled back to spawn area of deck and stopped. No message for rearm. Moved a number of time forward and back, still no message. Ended up landing and rolling a new plane. Have film if you want it.

C.202 and C.205 have flickering translucent square over the artificial horizon.

I dig the brighter sprites and tracers.

Clouds are nice, but the low cumulous rotate in place as I look at them from above while turning.

I disco about once per 2 hour session. I'm usually put back in flight (great feature!). The only time i discoed in AH2 was during a storm or when I lost internet connection.

Being able to get a GV inside a building by the building grabbing and sliding you in like a tree that trapped you was reported as a bug back in the beta.  Since it's still a feature, maybe not a bad feature since shelling/bombing the building could render the GV inside visible as long as it's a destroyable object like barracks etc.  If this feature stays in can all buildings that can be accessed be rendered destroyable like town buildings? For instance the town buildings in NDisles are not destroyable but you can get a GV into them, but base towns can have a gv get into a town building, but can be bombed or shelled down.  Just something to make the GV killable instead of the indestructible status now.  The truly indestructible buildings need to be hardened where it will not allow a GV inside, the control tower and indestructible hangars on a V base are a good example. Will  make GVers to develop more SA driving around.

Try tuning to yourself in AH3. Double check your audio settings and make sure you have the correct devices selected.

Had several of these yesterday, not sure what is causing it. It seems to happen when every I make a sudden view change no matter how small, but far from every time. Its almost like a "buffer runs out of data". :headscratch:

It's probably a bug that our Mic settings haven't carried over from previous versions of the game but once you set it the new version is should stick. I suspect that many people will have this problem.

Do two things, turn up your Mic to max. That will also activate the Boost option. Only then can you use boost to further increase the mic volume.

Oh, and be considerate and don't tune it too loud.

Did you refresh the roster? If you leave the roster up on the clipboard, it needs to be refreshed to show current information.

BowHTR & Easyscor, thanks for your replies. I had tried those things & more. I'm fresh out of ideas. Now I'm wondering if there's something in the beta (it worked in there) that I can copy over into AH3, or simply delete the whole program and reinstall it.

Being able to get a GV inside a building by the building grabbing and sliding you in like a tree that trapped you was reported as a bug back in the beta.  Since it's still a feature, maybe not a bad feature since shelling/bombing the building could render the GV inside visible as long as it's a destroyable object like barracks etc.  If this feature stays in can all buildings that can be accessed be rendered destroyable like town buildings? For instance the town buildings in NDisles are not destroyable but you can get a GV into them, but base towns can have a gv get into a town building, but can be bombed or shelled down.  Just something to make the GV killable instead of the indestructible status now.  The truly indestructible buildings need to be hardened where it will not allow a GV inside, the control tower and indestructible hangars on a V base are a good example. Will  make GVers to develop more SA driving around.

I noticed that when a tank is hiding in a building, if you drive around the building, at the right angle you can see what kind of tank is inside. They can shoot at you, but you cannot do them any damage because your shell explodes upon impact of the building. It you hit the building with several HE shell you still cannot do any harm to the tank inside.

while playing tonight kept getting micro freezes and finaly a crash TDT...others was complaining bout it also

Yep, that's why if theyre going to keep this as a feature then all structures you can get a tank into needs to have the same destructible requirements as a base town bldg or base barracks, 2 or 3 tank
HE rounds. Otherwise revise the object hardness rating where entry cannot happen.  Most buildings I have encountered you don't drive into, but trying to park up against it acts like a tree object and slides you in and out.   :aok :salute

Please post crash offsets if your ctd gives you the error screen.
You can also look at your windows event log to find the crash offset.
