When you are in the tower and go to F3/F8 mode (God View), There is not enough altitude to be able to look over the buildings when zoomed in. In AH2 we were able to view around the base for some distance using this method. The current configuration in AH3 hamstrings that ability. :frown:

Double check your keyboard bindings. It works just fine for me.

YEP.
F3 puts you over the tower; F5 puts you over the field.

Yeah I was using F5 in the AH2, but it does not work for me in AH3 from the Tower. It does from any gun position, but not the tower. In AH2 F5/F8 were "God View", the F3/F8 view was more restricted. The F5/F8 view can be accessed from any manned gun in AH3, but the "pan" function is disabled in the Tower. :headscratch:

I think your mistaking what "God View" is. What some call "God View" I believe is the CM Eye view, where you have an external view that can fly all over the map.

The CM Eye view is only available in custom arena if the option is enabled, or for CMs in the Special Events arena. What players refer to as "God View" in the mains, is the F5/F8 combo. I don't know why it wouldn't be working, unless the OP is using something like Track IR or his F8 key got mapped to something else.

ImADot is right, its the F5/F8 view in the mains. I have checked my mappings, and nothing else is mapped to F8, But the F5/F8 view works in the manned guns. I don't have TIR so that isn't it. Oh well I'll keep looking, just puzzling.

Just checked it too. On my end it works in Melee, does not work offline, or in Training Arena.

CMEye is enabled in the Training arena and probably in your offline arena settings as well. When CMEye is disabled, you get the MA f5/f8 combination.

Sorry but you don't know what you're looking at. Check the arena settings, View mode and you'll see that Tower Gods Eye is enabled. That isn't enabled in the MAs. There are posts that explain how to use it, and it's probably in the wiki as well.

Thank you for making that assumption. Offline it is enabled, and it is still locked to the ground. Same for online Training Arena.
So am I right, or are you wrong?

The F8 view mode only works if Tower Gods Eye is disabled. If enabled, once you hit F5 you need to use your programmed CM Eye controls to move around. I have those functions programmed to my CH gear under control mode 4.

F8 is not working in either condition. F5/F8 is not working.
