Title: Does anyone have the Oculus touch controllers?
Post by: hitech on March 15, 2017, 11:37:05 AM
If so I would like you to try use them for flight.

Map the flight controls to the controller, then when you press the grip button it is like grabbing the stick.

Nice Hitech, have to give this a try.  I picked up a Leap Motion controller for Xplane to give it a try at touching switches and yoke, waiting for delivery of that, but have the touch.

AH3 has been crashing in VR since I installed Touch controllers. Dump files posted in Bug Reports.

I may be older than you but I don't have to worry about Drivers Ed when I'm 70  :devil

Interested in how these operate for you. The touch controller requires line of sight to the reciever. My cockpit would prevent that from working. Understand leap is on the front of your VR?

Leap mounts to the front of your Scuba Mask so it senses the hand movements in front of you.

I'm not sure Hitech supports Leap or has plans to.  I was going to play around with it and I know it works along with Flyinside for Civ sims (XP, FSX, P3D).

I was hoping eventually it would be useful in stuff like ARMA to use hand to pick things up

Pretty much stuck with jazz hands.  I'm able to "fly" by mapping the controls but the fingers don't move or grab when I hit the grab control. (they totally worked in the setup)  The index finger doesn't move at all. It accepted the controllers and I was able to fly with it but not by grabbing the stick.

Grabing the stick is simply pressing the grip button. And right hands only functions with the clip board and other gui windows.

You don't fly with your right hand?

Okay it's working now!!! I have to use my LEFT hand ONLY to grab the stick. My right hand cannot grab it and I'm right handed.
I was able to fly that way holding the stick in my left.  :x

so instead of like sliding my hand left to right to roll, I've found that holding my hand centered and then pointing which way I want to go, seems to have a really nice control effect. Probably better than my joystick in some cases. works great for pitch too!  Super nice!
