Title: Loss of sound
Post by: 1Cane on August 18, 2019, 08:51:13 PM
This seems to be intermittent.  Someone will key up and I lose all environmental sound.  I don't know if they're talking or what :noid

it could be the other guys just not talking. The game can be set so the volume of the back ground sounds drops when a "mic" is keyed. If the other player talks you hear it, if they dont all you get is the back ground sounds dropping out.

What Fugi said about volume settings.

For the reasons why, I've seen people hitting the tangent all of the time. Many of those have been either beginners or for other reasons just been taking out one plane after another, not bothering to answer to any questions about them needing help. One could even think they have the same button assigned to e.g. Teamspeak or for another function outside the game. Heck, they may even be some YouTube game vloggers using the tangent button for commenting how crappy the game is since they can't get the plane up!

No matter what the reason is, it can be very annoying. I've tried range speaking, range texting and PM's without any answer other than sometimes the guy changes the airfield and continues doing the same elsewhere. "Or what" seems to be the reason.

How is that set up, Fugitive?

If you accept my answer instead of Fugi's:

Options>Preferences>Voice>Playback effects volume slider.

For making yourself being heard better, the Record effects volume slider will cut down the background noise of the game. Or that's how I understood the text shown when hovering over the slider button.

The buggy problems I have with sound occurs in bombers or ships guns. When my formation is hit often the sound will just go away, guns make no noise, no engines no sound of damage no sound of bomb release.

Thanks Birman!  I’ll give it a try.

Why do I always hear Kenny G playing in the background when you hit your mic key?

If you're using a USB head set, you can set it up in game so vox is heard through the earphones while game sounds are played through the PC speakers.
