Well now I know whats wrong with your bullets, your not hitting anything, thats why they dont do any damage.
You were firing at targets over 1000 away in a P39, your "lead" was what you should use for a shot at 300-350, so ya, not hitting anything. First off, no matter how bad you want to, dont bother shooting at anything over 600 out. Especially on a moving target. If a guy is AFK and flying straight and level you can pick him apart at 600 out but it will take double the hits because the range just sucks the power out of the bullits. Most shots that land good damage are under 350. Cannon rounds have a much bigger drop because they are heavier. So not only do you need "Lead" you need elevation.
Field guns, the rounds are so slow that you have to lead a target moving from left-right across the screen almost the whole screen! Also at the ranges you were shooting at...over 2k you weren't going to hit him anyway. 1500 is max and even then you better send the shots off with a prayer. 1200 and under are better ranges and the lead is about twice what you would do in a plane, those rounds are just too slow.
You screen looks pretty squashed down too. Im not sure if it is a "recording" problem or it is how you have it setup. Moving your head position back may help.

You have to remember, he is an ace and the reason he cant hit anything is because the game is broken, it is the other players fault, his toy controllers are too good for this game, etc

I agree with the screen part. I am not sure how you can stomach flying like that. Flying a P-39 might be a small part of the problem as well.

In his/her example, a 1 minute delay is nothing to track a CV and BB

You screen looks pretty squashed down too. Im not sure if it is a "recording" problem or it is how you have it setup. Moving your head position back may help.
That is a byproduct of VR, to him it looks normal.

When I run my VR (Oculus) My screen nor the screen capture look that way. Like I said, maybe hes just got his pilot sitting too close to the dash.

If he's using oculus mirror as Vulcan says it's a by product of that and how he has it set. Took me a while fiddling with it to get it to look right in VR.

I appreciate you streaming - it is unfortunate that the VR export makes the game look wonky. I am all for more publicity to the game and I try to stream FSO each Friday so long as our mission wouldn't be in jeopardy.

Can't you delay it some? I heard it makes it hard for folks on chat but that makes it secure.
I know on other games folks then post those to youtube. There are some hilarious GTAV videos.

If he's using OBS Studio to stream, there is a setting to add a delay.

You have to remember he thinks being able to see directly behind him is cheating so why wouldn't full time radar be okay for his SA and watching his six?

Yes, I run FSO with a 5 minute delay. I have the chat hidden and try my best to not look at the CBM, but if we're tasked with a bombing run that's going to take 50 minutes to an hour, a 5 minute delay won't help much if I slip up with the map.
For the majority of missions I see no issue, defense or escort are fine, I just don't want to be responsible for getting our entire force mauled 4 sectors from target because someone was stream sniping. :)
With that said, I wish I didn't have to run a delay at all.

you map a hatswitch back pull to 6 view - then your head is basically twisted 180 degrees and you can check 6 all you like. This way you don't turn your head more then 90 degrees. Even with that i end up with sore neck on occasion..
As for graphics video, youtube videos don't give a good impression. Depth perception and head movement make you feel like you're in plane. I tried it once 3 years ago, ended up buying vr gear same week. My AH consumption went from 2 hours per quarter ( yeah, 8h a year ) to 1h a day :)

OK.. I'll try to address as man as I can.
First and Foremost... Fugetive. THANK YOU!! I have been trying to figure out max effective ranges for the past 18 months in this game. You explained it excellently!! Being a former Sniper I am very familiar with ballistics, max ranges ect.. But.. my knowledge comes from shooting from a static position and I tried to apply that to a moving platform.. No wonder I wasn't very successful. I've become much much more proffecient since posting. Anyway, Thanks again for your expert advice, I really appreciate it.

a note on why I fly the queens.. P39's, I16, BF110, P40 and maybe a spit 9 if having a bad day. TBH, I fly these old birds because I like the challenge and satisfaction of downing you 109's, 190's and noob16's but mostly because its just too easy to kill you "vets" if I fly anything else.. Except for a handful of you Elite aces like 2cemex.. that guy is just insane good.
back to streams.. The stream from this post was my first stream ever and the quality was bad. The squishy screen was because I didnt have my AH playing in full screen. I had no idea because I am in VR full time and didn't notice untill a few streams later. I have since gotten much better.
What kind of streaming software do I use? At first I used OBS. Then I discovered Xsplit Gamecaster. If you stream, get Xsplit. If you are new to streaming get Xsplit.. It is hands down the simplest, most user friendly and fastest to set up and stream option available. Seriously, it's that good. It's FREE.. AND, the developers have put in a chat box in the studio that they monitor themselves. Literally i make 3 clicks and I am streaming in less than 2 minutes. Xsplit Gamecaster..
YES, I use my map to check enemy orientation when they are beyond my extended view while in a dogfight. I dont map the look behind hat switch because a.) the touch controllers for oculus rift are limited and I have them all mapped to more important buttons and b.) I fly in VR, I keep it as real as possible and can see for the most part almost all the way behind by turning my head. c.) Its a handicap assist for novice pilots. If you need it to fight then use it. I dont need it. I am using my map less and less these days anyway but I know what you mean by it messing up the stream video because it makes it seem like I am snapping my head every 3 seconds and makes it hard for the viewer to enjoy the action.
"If that is what VR is like, you can keep it"... No Sir, that is NOT what VR is like.. Not at all.. The streaming video is being watched on a 2d flat screen and there is no way possible to let you see what I see. example.. Strap a GoPro camera to your head and go for a drive. While you are driving, you see the environment all around you. Everywhere you look, the camera looks.. right?? When you watch the footage later, you will see everything that you recorded yourself looking at but it's not all around you like when you recorded, its just a video on a 2d screen.. same thing.
When you play AH, you are looking at a cockpit view on a screen, when you turn your head left or right, you see your wife in the kitchen or your dog chewing your slippers.
When I play AH, I am sitting IN the cockpit and I am Holding THE flight stick IN the cockpit, the one in the game. When I turn my head left or right, I see my wing and a view from 10,000 ft. So.. the question you need to ask yourself.. Do you want to LOOK at a cockpit on a screen or do you want to SIT IN THE COCKPIT AND FLY?
Don't tell me you cant afford it either because I have said many times already, I live in the SF Bay Area and these Scilicon Valley rich dinks buy a Rift, play it once and then craigslist them for $150 complete with 3 sensors. I will buy it for you, send it to you then you can pay me for it.. I'll do it for anybody that wants it.. even you Shoefly.. You OWE it to yourself to play this game in VR. How good is Dale's VR work? Let me put it to you like this. on the Oculus store there are over 500 Games and experiences. On Steam there are over 1,000VR games.. I dont play any of them. I play Aces High 4 to 6 hours a day.. EVERY DAY!!! Dale has done what none of these other developers seem to be able to figure out. Dale has made the User Interface in VR near perfect. from game load speed to menu interaction to flight controls, to smooth flight, to common sense usage of native vr controllers. It is literally an example that all other VR games should follow. I'm not kissing Dale's backside when I say it either.. we still have our issues like the Tempest not being a finished model for the VR player and the random sensor tracking checks that put you out of center but they will get worked out eventually im sure.
Dont say you cant afford the pushing power either because I am the brokest guy on the planet with the lowest spec pc and I run it just fine. My pc only has a Core i5 9400, 12 gigs of RAM and a GTX960 4gb graphics card. I run the game without issue and you can get a GTX 960 for $100 all day long.
STOP SECOND GUESSING YOURSELF AND GET A DANG OCULUS RIFT IF ONLY FOR ACES HIGH!! Your only regret will be having waited so long to get VR. I swear it.
Lastly, Cheaters looking at my streams for tactical advantage.. I delay for 30 seconds so go ahead.. Aside from that, What does that say about you Mr look at my stream to cheat. The only people that would do that are those that know what to look for and those folks have been playing AH for 10+ years.. If after 10 years + playing this game, if you still suck soo bad that you need to cheat (like this sweetheartybagggy guy that used his shade account to sandbag our CV's last night,

One final note.. Everytime I start a live stream I announce it over the 200 channel and respect peoples wishes if they don't want me to stream me shooting them down. 1 of 2 things are going to be seen. Me blowing you up or you blowing me up.. Mostly though its a 190 zooming in to Vulch me, me chasing the coward ALLLLLL the way back to the safety of his fiel or CV ack and me getting shot down by the ack because its better than me turning away from the ack and getting shot in the back by the 190 like george floyd as I fly home... Thats pretty much how you Veterans play the game these days.. (Exception... those veterans that DON'T fly 190's or Noob 3's.. I mean Yak 3's)

Aces High is not a large game so you would be able to use VR on those specs.

Imo most players learn a lot of this game the hard way, I certainly did. I can see from your recent posts you’re doing something I had to learn the hard way and with some helpful suggestions I learned to find the enjoyment in AH I was looking for.
Seems to me you’re fighting bad guys on their terms and expecting they aren’t going to HO, vulch, gang up, run away to ack or friends...When you learn to expect that is what they are going to do, then you can fight on your terms. Example: take a bit more time and come from a base further off, then you have enough E to choose how to use it.
Everyone plays and dogfights a little to a lot different from each other.
109s and 190s are very different from each other. Have you spent a lot of time in each model to know their strengths and weaknesses?
If 2cmex is the only player you’re finding to be up to your level switch countries. Or perhaps ask some to go the DA.

NO.. Thats not what I'm saying at all.. IMO, 2cemex is the best active player that I've seen/fought and been killed by. I am nowhere near his level in AH. He is 1 of a handfull of killers I dred facing, I just didnt name them all.. I've only 18 months in AH and so I am mearly advanced noob but I hit the curve so my skills are advancing exponencially..

I wont fly the 190 or the 109. The vulchers and runaways ruined them for me. I do however fly the 152 alot. Thats basically a 190A8 with longer wings.. I'm sure as my skills improve I will graduate to them. I'm still mastering the high eny hanger queens yet. I fly the I16 (my lawnmower) instead of the brewster.. tip( take the I16 to 15k, drop the tanks and dive straight down at 90degrees and don't pull out of your dive until 2k.. 550mph AND turns.. holds e pretty good to. Also, try the 152 as a low altitude high speed turn fighter. it does great between 350 and 400. will out turn most.. P39D with 20mm is also crazy good whendiving into a furball from 15k... holds e better than a spit 9.

It would seem you’re really meaning 190D, 109K and players that BnZ, run when they lose the advantage and vulch as mentioned. Those two planes are very good for that, however P51D, Tempest, later Spitfires, La7 and a handful of others have been used for the same years before I got here and still are. The early 109s won’t be able to run from much and anyone flying them doubtfully intends to.
My favorite is the G-14. I tried for months to get the 190A-5 to do things that it just won’t do in this game. I expected it would from MScombat Europe, but it doesn’t. I like to fly it, but it frustrates me. Anyhow, when you’re not specific it can come across as offensive. The G-14 is not great at anything, but it’s good at almost everything. Ive seen many players who can dogfight in BnZ planes and to amazement.
18 months here isn’t long, but it’s long enough to get in ppl’s doghouse. However, I’ve learned this community can be very forgiving when shown some humility. I made enough enemies in my first couple years that I learned later were players that would actually help and forget with a little adjustment of my attitude. A lot of those that used to get under my skin, I’d love to see in game and fly against again. I’ve been flying recently again under a different callsign because I don’t have a working mic and would love to say hello again to old pals but in game chat isn’t the same. I saw you yesterday evening and you were cordial and gave info and check 6’s, so maybe just sit back a bit and realize we all find different things to enjoy in the game. BnZ runners are still red guys to kill and they probably get the most frustrated when those easily defeated tactics fail them - the P-38 I’ve seen may be the very best at roping them...

Rot, I am always cordial, always try and communicate what I see. I have a foul mouth like any good Marine. What triggers me is arrogant dinks thatare hypocrites like the ones who attacked me in this post, made bad assumptions and justify their toxicity by attacking others as evident by their attacking in this post without even reading it.
Boom and Zooming has its place I agree but the cowardice that sets me off is the guy that will run across 2 quadrants to hide in his ack and instead of landing his plane when you turn around to return home, he darts out of his ack to shoot you in the back. its chknsht. yet, the same guy will vulch you over and over and over in the middle of the night when nobody is on instead of letting you get airborn and making a fight of it. How about the player that white flags your town, lets you chase him across a full quadrant then bails and jumps in an M3 to capture the town he Wfluffied?

Even yesterday I flew with, backed up and covered the six of a few of the attackers from this thread. I'm not a bitter man, just a brutally honest one.
