Title: Rudder Pedal Question

When setting up rudder pedals in AH, is it the setting " rudder trim "?
or is it something else? Keep in mind I have never had a set of rudder pedals before. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Rudder trim tweaks your yaw at a given speed and throttle setting. Your engine torque, the action on your airframe from the prop wash and wind direction relative your course will tend to make a plane not fly straight through the relative wind. This adds drag. The idea is to keep the ball/needle centered. You can do this with rudder but trim saves you from standing on the rudders all the time. Same rules apply for elevator and aileron trim. Auto trim will do this for you but it kinda puts you at a disadvantage once a fight starts and you're changing speeds quickly. It doesn't react fast enough. It's fine for going from here to there tho.


I fly a 38 mostly and the counter rotating engines cancel out the yaw issue. That is until I lose an engine--which is often! Rudder trim is essential then as since the engines aren't on the centerline of the airplane the yaw effect is a lot worse!

Axis should assign or be assigned to; "Analogue Yaw (Rudder)"

Thank you. I wanted to make sure I didn't miss anything. Seems like the aircraft should snap roll better. rudder trim has a slow reaction time is why I asked.

Yeah trim is just trim. You wouldn't actually use that for flying. Sorry if I misunderstood!

Unfortunately I was doing just that. Changed it and it is night and day as far as a difference.
