Title: Flying tank?
Post by: haggerty on September 10, 2020, 06:02:45 PM
I landed a kill in a Hurri 2D and got the achievement for Tiger 2 Dreaming (Save 100 vehicle perks)?  I'll further test later, but I thought it was funny.

Did you not receive Vperks when you attained that achievement?

That is the bug, you are not supposed to receive vehicle perks for aircraft sorties.  I get fighter perks in all of my attack sorties against vehicles.  The funny part is the Hurri2D is referred to as a flying tank, so receiving vehicle perks would be a funny feature, rather than a bug.

I'd say it's just as much a bug to get fighter perks instead of attack perks. Vehicles shouldn't count as aircraft kills.

There are no such thing as attack perks, you get perks for the class you are in.  Fighter/Attack give Fighter perks, Attack/Bomber give Bomber perks.  Vehicles give Vehicle perks.

What I'm sayin' is vehicles aren't planes anymore than planes aren't vehicles. Bomber perks for destroying vehicles sounds more reasonable (bombs, rockets or even strafing).

Vehicles and buildings are the intent of the attack sortie.  You would rather I am rewarded with Tiger 2 sorties for my attack plane skills?  Or 262 sorties for my wirble skills?

Pretty sure I settled on Bperks for attack sorties.

I'm pretty sure anything on the ground or water was the target of attack sorties (that included wheel and tracked vehicles, trains, ships, etc.). None of those are 'air to air kills.' However, if HT wants to award you fighter perks for strafing jeeps or even Tigers, who am I but a wondering guy.

I'd have no problem with attack perks, but when im flying close air support in anti-tank fighters, I'd rather not be rewarded with B29 runs.  I rack up fighter perks in my P40C so I can bomb GT and Kilroy in a Tempest.

I wouldn't think it would be outside of the context it was meant. I'm sorry you took this personally and my wish for you is that it stays in complete remission. Cancer decimated my family. The disclaimer was a commentary on Dolby's assertion that all my posts are cancer. I'll adjust my forum tag accordingly. Be well.
