Title: An idea to help newcomers
Post by: Cluzig on November 11, 2020, 06:34:10 PM
Whilst players avail of their free 2 week trial let them have the option to use a rocket and the bomb site, maybe even make that 4 weeks but if they prove too effective give them an award.

I'm guessing a gun sight that appears actually on the terrain and not just the HUD?

I'm not suggesting the enabling of aimbotting or handing out secret cheatcode.

What I had in mind is allowing noobs to adjust more speedily to an already overloaded learning curve by allowing them the usage of the lead calculation site and the bomb or rocket site available in offline practice.

Perhaps only allow it to be visible against structures fleets and ack guns. I'm not sure a 1000lber with assisted aim against a GV would be fun.

Wait, isn't this already an option currently for offline?   It's enabled somehow...   :headscratch:  Isn't it a command like: /<something goes here>.  I don't remember exactly how to get it enabled in offline.  :o

At the very least, it's a LCS for air targets.  I don't recall it working for bombs and rockets however. :headscratch:

In the main arena? I gotta send you some real whisky .
I'm talking about allowing the temporary usage of these sites online.

They helped me become the  bomb**** I am today.  I used to tank almost exclusively back when I was playing in Iraq with 700 ping, so I realized how easy it was to shoot down planes doing strafing runs and bomb drops with too low an angle of attack.  When I started flying I was determined to develop a good attack run without wasting ords, so I went to the practice room and would practice runs and figure out where on my HUD the bomb reticle was at about 800 from the tank or object I was practicing on.  Now in MA I never miss, just keep your attack runs and release point consistent.

The way I worded the entire thread is muddy. So to clarify the idea is to allow the toggling of bomb site and rocket site online in the main arena for a couple if weeks or let's say till they kill 25 acks or objects.
The thinking behind the idea is most games nowadays offer interactive tutorials to the point they are part of the game. People no wait gamers are lazy and need guidance. I still don't know or have to guess where to drop in many models. I'm playing over 6 months.

Negatives would be someone experienced getting to use it.
People not wanting the site to disappear...
