Title: Minimum Spec Requirement for 120 to144 fps
Post by: Cluzig on December 18, 2020, 07:27:56 PM
Does anyone have an approximate idea of the type of specs required to maintain 144fps so as to sync it with a gaming monitor max hz of refresh rate. I know many have a freesync or whatever but prefer

1080 or 720p with everything frame rate related turned off.

If you are shooting for minimums, I do not think you will be happy. Too many variables.

Based on what I've heard from friends GTX 1660 and GTX 1070 run games like PUBG and CS:Go nicely at 144 fps on a 1440p screen. The guy with the 1070 has an older computer featuring an i5-4670 and 16 GB RAM, the other one just updated from such to a Ryzen 5 5600X. As AH is pretty lightweight graphically those cards on a decent CPU-RAM combination should do pretty well especially on 1080p.

Thanks for the input guys. I've come to the conclusion a GeForce 1660 Super would be the best option especially for 1080p.

MY GTX 1660Ti 6 GB card runs AH3 at 144 refresh rate on my 1440 monitor. It does a moderately decent job at MS FS2020 with a throttled FR of 30. I honestly am unsure of any differences between my card and a 1660 Super.

Super is sort of a 2nd generation version. The base is identical to 1660 but the memory is even faster than that of the Ti so the performance is much closer to Ti than regular and in some games even better.

That gives me a somewhat sense of security if your card is hitting 144@1440p. Is it a stable frame rate or is gsync on?
Detail up and ground range?

The 1660 super version as explained well by bizman is always coming up as no.1 in reviews as the best budget 1080p card but seeing as AH3 is an older game i may get away with lower than your specs.
