Title: At the hospital
Post by: RotBaron on February 21, 2021, 11:12:55 PM
Gone to the emergency room to rule out appendicitis. Having lot of lower abdominal pain past couple days  🙏 it’s not and not necessary to have it out.  :(

Prayers appreciated   :pray

Best of luck buddy.  I hope they figure it out soon.

I thought kidney stones were later in life, until I skied with a friend last week. He said he had two of them in his mid 30s.   :bolt:

Hoping for the best for ya. Just got over colitis the other month. Takes at least 2 months to get over it and the meds are extremely expensive. Almost $500 for antibiotics for it. (90 day supply cost me $10 through tricare for life)

 :pray

Thank you all for your prayers and best wishes!

What I know so far is not appendicitis.

CT with constrast showed more than the CT without.

With contrast the GI Dr believes it’s slightly less than acute bout of diverticulitis.

The surgery team scared the hell out of me when they were reporting on the CT w/o contrast saying looks like a tumor or cancer or possibly severe diverticulitis. Had a surgeon there who wanted to cut. As you might imagine sent my anxiety through the roof.

Thankfully the GI Dr said the area is really inflamed and he strongly discouraged a course of action of colonoscopy, biopsy and potential resection until the area heals, infection goes away and the bowel has recovered much more. I personally know someone who had surgery and resection during acute diverticulitis - lead to perforation, septicemia and he died  :(

Dr leans strongly towards diverticulitis as my colonoscopy in June showed areas of diverticula and nothing more.

Glad most of us are men around here and most mind don’t discussing exrecrement/evacuation issues  :rofl

Most Women embarrassed about it...

Again thank you all!

Lol that reminds me when I had my kidney stones since it was very early when the doc tried to imagine me he stated that "I was full of faeces " and he could not see anything.

The wife thought that was hilarious and agreed with him

Diverticulitis is painful as well and is dangerous if it becomes serious

Thank you. Not exactly in the feeling ok area yet, hopefully sooner than later. Antibiotics help rid of infections but also have never made me feel good overall.

In this case my gastrointestinal system...ridding of the diverticulitis but upsetting the rest of the GI system 🤒

If they are bringing tequila then they will either cure ya or kill ya. In each case you are out of the hospital.

Thank you for thinking of me.

I am on antibiotics for something that showed up on CT scan as a potential abscess of diverticulum. Praying it’s nothing worse.
