Title: VR Oculus Quest 2 - Control Mappings erasing
Post by: Finn on April 30, 2021, 02:10:44 AM
Hi All,

Just configuing up an Oculus Quest 2,  and all if good with controls,  then BAM all the stick mappings are erased while ingame.

1) Copied by stick.jsm files and made VR_stick.jsm files
2) All good,  works ... then ingame while in-plane BAM all gone!!!
3) While ingame ... all mapping erased (including the oculus hand controllers) -
4) All the VR_{sticks}.jsm files are also showing as no functions mapped ... all blank
5) Have to copy/restore backup to even get the oculus controllers back

6) Alternate method to restore - I delete all the VR_ files and they re-create

Any ideas, or seen this before?

Thanks

Finn

Seems to be ok after changing AV settings.
Read through some older posts, where Skuzzy suggested it might be due to AV not allowing settings files to be written.

I set Anti-virus to NOT scan the AH3 settings folder,  and sofar it hasn't wiped settings.

Yep, I've experienced the same trouble and in fact additional layers of difficulty on top of that. It's very buggy. I will try your AV suggestion and start copying the folder in case things go wrong again!

You might try setting your jsm files to read only after you're happy with the mapping?

Worth a try and also backing them up in case this happened again and that didn't work. That's what I did. It's happened to me recently and I posted as a bug only because I keep hearing it from others. Seems VR is the common thread. Only happened to me the one time out of nowhere. Been VR for almost two years.
