WOW, so many years away. My late father moved in with me in 2010 and had dimensia then Alzheimer's that eventually took him in late 2015. I had to put all my many activities aside to care for him. I haven't logged into my Gamer PC since then either! I think I stopped paying a few years ago...so my account is certainly lost. I miss this stuff but having retired in October 31, 2015 I don't have the finances to upgrade gear, pcs etc.
Hope all are surviving the Covid pandemic and are healthy! Stay safe and check 6. :old:

Thanks! I wish I had the ability to play. I did install on my laptop and flew with a mouse! LOL Not sure I can renew my acct...but might tinker around a bit.

Hey Shamus! I took dad back to Pontiac in 2010, then the U.P. where he was born! (Ironwood) A Mackinac Island stop along the way. I attended my 50th high school class reunion, Pontiac Northern High, 2016. A lot has changed since I left for the service in 1967...but still found old house, school, and friends.

Flight controllers hardware have advance quite a bit since 2010, new manufacturers have come in, etc, but this outfit

still has in stock some of the older controllers we're all familiar with.
Also, Hitech has done a good job implementing support for console controllers - one time, I tried a Logitech Playstation-style USB controller just for kicks and AH recognized it right away and even has default mappings for it. While I didn't spend enough time with it to get comfortable, it might be an inexpensive but workable alternative to a full set of controllers.

Sorry to hear about your Dad, K-Ken, and my best wishes to you and your family.
Aces High doesn't seem to need much increased computer resources since 2015.
What is your frame rate if you do these things in graphics settings:
-- Environment map slider to zero.
-- Disable shadows, reflections, pilot mesh, and post lighting.
Like Svaalbar, who graciously offered a joystick, I also have a Logitech Extreme 3D (it is a twisty stick for rudder and has throttle on the joystick base) that I can send you. Tell one of us your mail address, and we can get you one. :aok
K-Ken, there is an event coming up on July 31st -- a TFT (like a one-day scenario, that runs for 8 hours, but you show up whenever during that time you want, and fly for as much or little as you want). Feel free to come on in for some flying time. :aok

WOW Hi Brooke! I have missed many things and your calming voice and nature! Yes, I graduated from Pontiac Northern High school! LOL I do miss scenarios http://www.kkenshome.com/events.html (http://www.kkenshome.com/events.html) I can fire up the old PC and see if it can work still. I have my MS FF stick and a complete CH set. I suspect flying again would be fun but I would be starting fresh! LOL I may have to change my name, I suspect. Let me try and get things checked out. I used my laptop the other day. Not sure I have enough USB ports for gear.

Just grab yourself a powered USB Hub, which would also provide the the needed, steady voltage/power

Thanks Brooke- Sadly, I have been lax in updating it. The pages were written long ago with the Microsoft Front Page software and the pages don't load correctly now. I have some new software, but still trying to figure it out LOL

Thanks guys! My Microsoft Force Feedback still still works! :rock :joystick: Mind you, I am still trying to remember the key mapping and all. It's trying to come back in my mind, but I am finding some keys I set don't feel right. Also the stick is really sensitive. I may need a week or so to figure things out. I did go Rook, I flew thru a hanger in a P38L but hit a gun on the reverse side. Landed w/1 engine LOL I forgot I have to set gun convergences and all...BUT I will keep plugging away. :rock :joystick: :airplane:

I am still tweaking my joystick, changed button settings as I recall things I used to do and where they were assigned. I have done a few Carrier takeoffs and landings in Hogs. The C is still a challenge! LOL I haven't set convergence or done much but still trying!
