Hello,
One aspect of 88's that is absolutely non-appropriate is when we finally get a really good fight going with multiple planes in a particular area of a sector and you have an 88 firing pot shots into the cloud of friendly AND foe planes.
Please fix this. 88's should not be allowed to fire into a cloud of planes where half of them are their own! :old:
Thank you,
X15 :salute

Enable kill shooter in manned guns

Reality Check is not Kill Shooter..
Friendly Ack shot down their own planes all the time..
There were many examples..
Bodenplatte for the Germans, Sicily for the Americans..
Just sayin..

I b
the vertical range of a WWII 88mm was just over 34,000 feet so it shot into the clouds on cloudy and partially cloudy days

and on a similar note-irk's me when people whine and complain about getting shot down by 88's 20mm and 37mm manned guns. this is a WWII flight sim where you have base's and towns with flack guns as they did in WWII. yes I know they didn't have auto flack guns in the war. but have anyone not watch WWII fighter documentary's of American and British fighter's strafing enemy airfields. did you not see tracers coming up at the planes. it happened in WWII it should happen here, as a matter of fact, the accuracy of the base nand town guns should be turned up

Also the 88' are some what less capable in game than what was used in real life with regards to rotation speed.

That's true. I've seen some videos and was amazed at how fast they could swing those 88's after experiencing them in the game.

Clearly we have the low gear in game.
"Time to traverse 360 degrees:
High gear 33.90 sec
Low gear 69.79 sec"

I recall that in fact I think there is a thread on it that I did some digging for it. I believe the data was for an electric driven motor for the turrets that was posted some place that was where the info started. From what I recall none ever had electric motors. They were all hand cranked hence the slower speed there was a low and high gear as well and what is in game I think was the high gear? :headscratch:

This topic is not aimed at extremes in possibilities. More toward the norm for WWII.
There were in-field modifications of planes (not allowed in this game), experimental or short production runs of some plane variants (arguable not the norm here), and the like.
Shooting an 88 into a cloud of friendly planes was not done most of the time in WWII. :old:
Sorry, my bad for not clarifying.

Speaking of Wirble turrets the Canadian restoration finally got the turret freed up.

Fighting near an enemy base was always a bad idea. More enemy planes could up and fight at any time.
Fighting near enemy base is BAD. Don't do that and the 88 problem goes away.
