Which button does the mic key off of ??????
Very frustrating besides dying all the time..
-
Is it "transmit ??? Or radio 5 or ???
-
Transmit to nearby friendlies with F11. Transmit to channel 5 with the T key. You can type your gameid into channel 5 to transmit to yourself to test your comm.

So the T key I want to assign to a button. The F12 I want to assign also. What is the description that I assign to a button in throttle mapping for those keys ?

F11: Voice Transmit Range
T: Voice Transmit Channel
-
There are two voice channels, Range and Tactical. Pressing the F11 key lets you transmit on the Range channel to teammates within about six miles of your position. (many people re-map this to a button on the joystick) You can only transmit for four seconds at a time (this helps keep people from clogging up the radio). The Range channel lets you talk to people in your area, without having to hear everyone on the entire map.
The Tactical voice radio can be tuned so you can talk to a specific group of people. If you press the slash key to open the text window, the channel on the far right is marked with a “V”, for Voice, that is the Tactical channel. You can set the tactical channel to a specific “frequency” by entering a number in the little box next to the V.
Pressing the T key lets you transmit on the Tactical channel. So that's F11 for Range, T for Tactical.

Hope this helps.

Thx all. Someone actually heard me last night. BTW 15 years of rust takes awhile to knock off...

The only thing I have to add is that, if you map the 'push to talk' button to your joystick, which I have done, it doesn't work when you're in bombsight view. Which means that when I'm lining up on a target, if a team mate talks to me, I have to ignore them until after I drop. And most of the time they're telling me someone is on my six, which I take as a given, but still.

Decoy, when you are in the bombsite your joystick is in a different mode (mode 4), and you will have to map your push to talk button in that mode. You can copy mode 1 button assignments to mode 4, but that may change some button assignments that you have set in mode 4.
As is my normal I can talk you through stuff better than I can type you through it.

Agreed, try going into mode 4 then hit copy mode 1 that will map all the buttons the same as in mode 1. If you have some changes in mode 4 you may need to remap them again.

Is there a way to text on the squad channel other than opening up the channel box and clicking on the "V"?
-
You can type on whatever channel your vox is tuned to by pressing shift \ That will open the text buffer on channel v

....or you can use the drop down boxes to tune any of the channels to the "squad" channel for texting.
