Title: Lost voice coms....
Post by: nopoop on March 17, 2023, 08:59:06 PM
Game sounds work fine.

Can't hear any coms between other pilots, and my mic doesn't work either.

Voice coms are gone completely. Restarted game, computer etc  etc..

Help

Check your connection. Bad connection the sound is usually the first to go.

Use VR?   I had a situation last evening...Mic muted, out of the blue?  Been a long time since I had that happen.  VR...unplug USB...plug back in..problem solved.  We also had a Nvidia Update and a Windows, even an Oculus Update too?   :uhoh  LOL..I do believe that I set a RECORD....as in saying "5x5 Poop....sounds good, Poop!"    Unless one of these updates???? Changed default Game Sound settings...I have no answers!   BW1stpar, here!!!!  Several of us were saying same thing,  "Sounds good, 5x5, loud and clear.."
HMM...Hurless.."Can he hear us? This is weird!"   :uhoh  ME..."No toejame"!    "Par...its NOPOOP!"     Me, "SAME THING!"     lol  "Tell HIM that!" .    Well toejamE  :rofl

Did you check to see if it works under Windows?   Settings/System/Sound will give you an opportunity to set levels and troubleshoot...

If the devices are working in windows they should work in the game. The quickest fix that might work on the fly in-game is to try a .resetv command. Otherwise, make sure they're selected in the game sounds advanced settings in the clipboard as you want them to be.

If you got nothing in windows sound settings, look in your headset settings and see if there's something in there that's turned off. Sometimes a headset update will mess things up. When I had an Oculus, this happened to me a couple of times. The good news/bad news is now I have a G2, which is great! But I'll never get an update to WMR as our good friends at MS have pulled the plug on that. So my settings for that will never get hosed by an update!

Draino you are the MAN !!!

Windows and ingame values were all correct.

.resetv did the trick !!

Voice adds so much to this game. Lose it and you learn how much it adds to the game.

Thanks all !!

WTG Drano!    Seems odd to me that a game restart didn't fix it, but .resetv did.

Another thing that has bitten me in the past is the small 'mic mute' switch on my headset's inline volume controls.
