What units do you get the most enjoyment out of in AH? Which additions have proven to be the best for your money?
I have ben flying the Fw190A-5, an aircraft I had not previously spent much time in, and have discovered that it is one of the most enjoyable to use in the MA.
I would say, right now, that my favorite units in AH are the Mosquito Mk VI, Fw190A-5 and Spitfire Mk IX.
The Fw190A-5 is a surprising addition to my list for me. Have any of you been surprised by a preference for a unit you didn't think you'd particularly like?

In the Sicily scenario I was assigned to fly a Macchi 205. I was indifferent at best towards this airplane, but to my surprise the 205 proved to be a great airplane. I only wish the blasted thing had more fuel!
Naturally, in the MA I mainly stick with the P-51D since that was my "old faithful" arena ride from AW.

Changes every week/month for me, right now, it's the Typhoon or the Yak 9U.
I'm done with LW plastic, no more for me right now.
I'm thinking to do a C47 tour though... my recent show of competence would allow me to do that ;)

I had been flying the a5 exclusively for a few tours.
It is IMO the most enjoyable LW ride.

I Only fly the P-38L, everything pales by comparison.

I found the FW-190A5 last tour. I really like it...and it is my ride of choice.
Kudos to Hortlund for the introduction to this plane....

Bf109G-6..
but since I'm not skilled to enough to survive in it in the MA, I naturally fall towards the Bf109G-10. If we had the notorious late war high performance planes perked(albeit lightly), and the majority of the MA planes stay within mid-war ranges.... I'd definately stick with the G-6.

I fly just about everything, largely due to selecting planes based upon the need at the moment. P-51s, 109s, 190s, P-40, 110 and so on. However, I spend the majority of my time in two aircraft. Those are the FM-2/F4F-4 and SBD. Although the Wildcat is just about the slowest fighter in the planeset, it is nearly untouchable if flown correctly. I had a P-51 driver attempt to escape by diving. Well, guess what? I caught him..... Even though the Wildcat is a premier turnfighter, it is one of those planes that requires careful energy management. This is a great plane for noobs. Once you master the FM-2, you can fly anything well, from Zeke through 109G-10.
As to the SBD, this is a real sweetheart. Pinpoint bombing, sterling maneuverability. I took one up in the CT over the weekend, bombing Luftwaffe airfields and embarrassing quite a few 109E and 110C drivers. I lost one, probably due to overstressing it. However, there seems to be a bug in the flight model. Pull hard on the stick at speed and you dump straight to the tower. Wings don't come off, no groaning, it just dumps to the tower and tells you that you have died. No chance to bail out... Nothing. That's what got my SBD in the CT. The Luftweenies (those that survived) were too busy running to be a threat.... ;)
Dedalu and I were thoroughly enjoying ourselves.
Anyway, for fun and excitement, take a Dauntless up to 25k and go hunting for high flying P-51s. It's a hoot. Got a Mustang and B-26 with it yesterday, both up around 18k. Part of the fun is watching the panic set in when they find themselves beset by a rediculously fast moving divebomber up where they thought they were safe from dorks like me. :eek: I can't promise that you will win most of the fights doing this (lol), but I can promise that you will have a lot of fun and scare the bejesus out of some folks. Just remember to score flight as a bomber. One more thing, be prepared for a long climbout. At 25k climb rate is just 500 ft/minute. Occasionally doing something wacky helps keep the game from becoming boring.

IMO the most survivable ride in Ah next to Jugs and Ostys.
Targeting La's, Niks and Spits has become my favorite sport the past 3 months :D

Depends on situation Yak9u for defense of field and F6f-5 for jabo and some furballing when attacking
But just found out about the FM2 it is a sweat ride for furballing (over friendly field its to slow to go anywhere)

For fighter sweep i use the P38 the one with "Pudgy(V)"
For bomber escort i use the P38 L type
for jabo i use the L type P38
And for furball i use the lightning type L
There so many lightnings to choose from that i sometimes just don't know wich one i'm gonna take.
To many choices it's hard for a lightning pilot

If I was a bit better and it wasn't porked, I'd never fly anything but Ta152, except for specific things like field captures etc. I feel vulnerable when I have no choice but to up D9 now.
In GVs, panzer is very fun, but there's no place to hide it, no urban zones, no forests etc, and no allied tank to fight; M8 is an easy HE or AP pop at most ranges.

I actually enjoy the 202... fast, fun little bird. And any jap iron other than that crappy A6M2 with it's crappy guns and crappy ammo load. Even used a Ki-67 in a dogfight once, was fun. Oh, did I mention the A6M2 is crappy? :D
