Good times last night (Post Here)

In Weston connecticut, about 2 months after getting my pilot's license I was approached by the cross country capt to see if I was going to be flying that afternoon.

I answered in the affirmitive, gave him a VHF handheld, the frq and a time I would be over. I tookoff and arrived over the school at around 2:30 in a Mooney 201 staying around 700-1000 agl.

My idiot friend rob said eventually "Hey Wolf, go in low." So in youthful exhuberence I disappeared behind the hill, pushed the prop and throttle up. Little did I know it was team pictures day and not some 1/2 bellybutton practice, so what should've been 2 dozzen turned out to be around 200-300 people. All said and done, they didn't know I was there until I was on top of them - I arrived about 15ft above the treetops just shy of 200 mph, with everyone on the deck.

"Hit the deck troops!"

Of course my idiot friend rob who was a save bellybutton was standing next to a cop with radio in hand - it didn't take a great stretch to figure out what was going on. But it did take the FAA 6 months to issue a 90 day suspention, but I also turned myself in when they were questioning all of my friends.

Flying for 10 years (trained since age 12) does a lot to you - i'm 22 now, I was 17 then and have seen a lot of friends killed during my career. And the cocky kid that I was then has long since been humbled - and survives by teaching young kids like I was exactly what not to do.

Munich, Germany.  Hofbrauhaus.

Great food, great entertainment, and great friends.  We were pretty blazed after the show and walking back to the hotel we stopped and shot the **** in the Marionplatz.  We didnt get to sleep til 4-5 am.  The whole night was just great fun.  Nothing too exciting.. just felt good to be alive I suppose.

Infact I'm kinda feeling like that now.  Just got in from a few small parties around campus in Milwaukee (UW).  Just feels good to know you've got friends around to enjoy a few beers and have a good night.  No fights, nobody's on a mission for that certain girl, no **** to hit the fan... a mellow, chill night.

Good stuff.

I had a lot of fun in high school... but get this: it gets even better... If you play your cards right anyhow. The parties we had in the Navy and in College were totally off the hook compared to the desert keggers from high school.

So try not to burn out :)

22-17=5 years.  You may be a good pilot, but I suspect your a lousy accountant.  ;)

I graduated high school several years ago. Now, in my mid twenties, I can honestly say I've had about ten times more fun in college and even more so living on my own 3000 miles from where I grew up. Not to say highschool wasn't fun. It definitely was. Playing in the sandbox was fun too, and with matchbox cars. Once the sandbox becomes your own, however, and the car is the one you chose for yourself, that's when life really begins. Also, and I know I'm not alone in this, girls generally get better looking in their twenties. They're bodies, unless destined for early implosion, tighten up and come into their own. Their sense of syle matures, and, dare I say, their personalities become more interesting. There is life past highschool. More so, in fact, than there is IN highschool. For those that peak at 17 or 18... Good luck on the porch with the bud light 30 pack.

Some good stories, yea i know it gets alot better after high school, i got high expetations for college parties:D  im just talkin bout high school now because thats where im stuck at until end of next school year.

lol you should be glad your kids are out of high school, its actually getting pretty bad these days, trust me i could be doing alot worse stuff that the "other people" do, but thats definetly not me, i just like to have fun every once in awhile.

Id say now days out of that 80% or so that i said drink, around 65% of those smoke marijuana, a good 40% are into extacy and shrooms LCD etc, and then may seem small but about 25% are into cocaine and harder drugs, i stay away from all of that crap, but i feel sorry for those kids.

Anyways keep em comin!:aok

I got a "B" on one of my test so decided to get of my study friends together and have a study night.  We got some Cool-Aid and pretzles and studied all night.  One of my study friends was a girl (chick) and we studied with her.  It was cool.  Someone brought some Mt. Dew and made us laugh.

It was a fun night.

Wow!  The memories!
Rock:  Ya see that Ensign, lighting the cigarette?
Powell: Yes Rock.
Rock: Well that's where I got it, he's my son.
Powell: Really Rock, well I'd like to meet him.
Rock:  No ya wouldn't.

I was a teenager in the late 60's...I lived in California in the bay area.. birth control pills had just become widespread... it was the age of hippies, bikers, free love, muscle cars and no one had taken drugs long eenough yet to notice that there was any problem.... you could build a Harley for $1,500 and a meth lab could make $20,000 a batch for 50 bucks worth of chemicals... bands like credence clearwater played in bars.... The philmore was open.

If the rivets weren't showing then your drum brakes were good... any tread on tires constituted "good rubber"   everyone knew that the front brake on a Harley was for looks and the way to stop in an emergency was to lay it down.... pansies wore helmets away from the race track.

I had such a good time that you all have to wear rubbers when you screw now.... sorry bout that.
