Re: Klaus..
Chosen to be president after a month of noone in the seat, generaly accepted as a fill in rather then a conquerer.
Dropped out of politics in 1997 when it was proven that his party was taking money on the side ( overseas accouts, fictional sponsors ).
Considered convervative, even by softer europian standards. Responsible for breaking up of Czech and Slovakia when he was a part of the government.
Considering rather enthusiastic "Yes" votes for EU in all 10 new countries, i doubt if he reflects the view of Czech voters ( he was selected by parlament ).
There is enough of populist lines in the very artcile above to make it clear that he doesn't like EU however his reasoning borders on nationalism rather then anything else. Let' have connecticut leave the union !!! Smaller government !!
Considering how much Czech republic ( and all 10 new natoions ) have to gain fomr EU joining, it's rather idiotic for his to make those statements.
Czech beer can already be bouight everywhere else, and czech women go west anyway, so not like he has lots to offer
Like ghost said, don't like it ? Leave it.
