Found a fairly large scorpion walkin across the kitchen floor 2 nights ago.
Mosquito's ugh malaria, yellow fever, encephalitis, etc., etc., etc., .. historically the greatest killer of humanity.
Think house flys come in second or third Insect wise.
Used to work at a Mosquito Abatement District. Malathion is now banned, Diazonon is now banned, allot of what was used for control is now banned.
Last time I checked they were using a synthetic form of the chrysanthemum poison that breaks down very quickly (couple of hours). Pyrethrum based I think is the word.
And certain bacteria's that just loved mosquito larva.
And a specially formulated oil that smothered the larva but breaks down in a matter of hours.
Everything has to be registered and approved with Fed and State EPA's and all usage must be tracked by amount, concentration, location (via a map), species, species stage of developement, method of application, what it was applied to (crops, water, orchard, school yard, sewer, storm drain, etc...), who applied it, why it was applied (justification), and the list goes on.
