109G-10 FM and buildings
« on: December 06, 2003, 03:31:16 AM »
Just flew a bit in the AH2 Online arena.

I'm starting to like the FM of my 109g-10.  Overall, the FM is starting to feel more like the real deal in that we HAVE TO kick in more right inputs in order to maintain a straight line of flight.  And, while flying low and looking at the landscape below, I can get a better sense of the difference between 350 knots and 100 knots; I never got this from AH...NEVER.  So, way to go.  :aok

One thing I'm not liking, though, is that I have to keep the slider for "level of detail" and the object size all the way to the "Performance" side in order to maintain 50fps or better.  As long as I'm seeing the same buildings as quickly as everyone else in the arena, I'm not worried.  But, for now, it's not cool to fly over an airfield or city and not see buildings until you're directly overhead.  (I'm guessing this is something that is being worked on, right?)

Last thing for now is that I experienced quite a bit of hang-ups (each was very brief) while flying around by myself.

I'm looking forward to more AH2 online.  :)

cc, Lok.

Where did you download your CAT drivers for your card?

I have an ATI Radeon 9700, checked http://www.ati.com and was disappointed with the lack of drivers.  Do you know of any other sites for drivers?

Thanks,

TBolt
