just an idea  but wouldn't it be fun to be able to lay mines  at c near a port  or around a town.
these could last a limited time then be no good  but it might add some stratgie to the game instead of running hell for leather to the town  or chasing cv with cv  ?

Well hopefully with the new AHII terrain the Blitzkrieg/Kamakazi gv runs to bases and towns will be knocked down a few notches.  With the tree layouts and all there is very few direct routes to the base/town.  But laying land mines would definately be a good idea so as to strategically force enemies to come down coordioors to the wolves.

Not sure if PT boats ever had the capability of dropping mines but if they did that would be a good idea also.  It would or could help limit the half a mile off shore flogging that goes on now to bases and towns.  It'd also force medium to long range shots from the CV gunners.  And at longer ranges the gunners would need a spotter for precise aiming.  Plus since when wasn't most ports mined for security?   I'll have to look this up and see if and how often ports were mined.

most ports had aeras mined to deter n m e raiders but at the same time the routes had to be swept for n m e mines too.
