Axis Squads if worse comes to worse
« on: February 15, 2004, 07:07:43 AM »
I've heard some news that JG-3 is becoming an MA squad. I don't know the details or if it's true. If it is, this will seriously cramp the style of squad ops in the CT. There just won't be enough bad guys. If there is no longer a dedicated CT Axis squad , I have an idea.................

The 78th will fly IJN on PTO squad nights if we could get some help from another FG , or RAF squad. If we did this during PTO's would some of the Navy squads say VF-17, and VF-27 be willing to fly Luftwaffe during ETO setups on the normal squad heavy Tuesday, and Thursday nights. This would allow every squad to have a chance to fly their signature planes, without the screaming , crying, and nashing of teeth over side balance.

On non squad nights all bets are off , but on Tuesday and Thursdays, I'd be willing to put the 78th in Japcrap, I'm sure I'll get a knot or two from the guys.:p

This will only work if the squads work together though. Also it means there will need to be more than 2 PTO's per calender year.:D

Dont do it JG-3, the MA is a wasteland, there is no "Luftwaffe" there.

We need to call in the negotiator and talk them off the ledge!

Talk the off the ledge?  I could just push them off, may be easier and channel 1 would not have to be squelched so often.

Hell ... what's with this, JG3? VF-17/CAG-44 has plenty of guys who even up sides. But we look forward to an intense rivalry on squad nights with JG3.

Wassamatta? No likee even up/equal numbers head bashing on squadnights? You'd rather leave the axis side in a lurch to prove a point or sumpin? C'mon ... you guys said yourself that you was up to it. We don't mind a tough fight. Show us that you don't either. This just makes it look like if you guys can't win all the time you'll just take your ball and go play in someone else's sandbox. Well ... if you really think the MA's gonna be all that ... ahem   (you know better). :)

Now get your candy-leather-diaper-wearin' arses back here. We ain't done with yas yet. :D

...ok, back to the ledge. I need a negotiator with the experience, and the tact needed for this situation.

Where is Shane?

During squad night prime time, some of us allied squads hoped we could plan realistic type missions. The CT needs an axis squad that will compliment the allies in this type flying. If anyone is interested in forming this kind of squad, or a current CT axis squad is interested, please meet us in the CT on thses nights. The allied squads will be conducting objective target attacks. Could be a simple bridge, factory, ship, port or rail depot. We will protect or bombers, but really do not want to cause a typical furball unless we need to in order to survive. Our objective is to strike the target, protect bomber i.e. attack planes and rtb alive. When axis guys want to do the same, allies will CAP and wait for the attackers.

Honeslty it wouldn't hurt to fly IJN once and a while, it would give us some practice in the IJN plane set for squad ops...give the Navy boys the F4U and whatever...

I think that Magee is right on this one...  would like to see a couple or one big axis squad in CT... I mean I have some great missions in mind for the allies....  but if we have more than one squad flying missions with us on thursdays.. I think we should divide the mission planing between the squads... you get burned out writing missions all week...

VF-27 has flown Axis for numbers time and time again. Its not that big of a deal but it gets old on PAC set ups.  Im sure it will be no problem to provide opposition for for you guys for some ETO missions. It will most likely bring the fun factor back without the JG3 cryfest on Ch 1.

Slash if needed we'll fly axis on PTO's on your squad nights. I'm not going to make em fly it on non squad nights though. Non squad nights anybody can fly what they want.

In spite of everything, the numbers in the CT have been good. Even on squad nights, people are flying IJN. to those that have stepped up to fly the dark side.
