« on: February 07, 2004, 05:22:48 PM »
i have a microsoft precision pro 2.  today it decided not to be recognized to be installed by my computer.  i tried to redownload software for it, but that didnt work.  im getting the message, game port or game port drivers not configured properly.  ive checkd device manager but dont see the stick listed under usb.  ive tried 3 different usb connections, none of them worked.  any ideas?

Do you know anyone with a spare stick so you can check whether it's the stick or the usb that is faulty?

ok, found out what it was. had to call microsoft.  if you leave it plugged in and computer on for a long time, it will build up a static charge and cause it not to be recongnized by computer.  had to turn off computer and plug and unplug the joystick from the computer 10 times.  then turn the computer back on and then plug in the joystick.  it worked.  :D
