Aces High and Zone Alarm Pro
« on: March 16, 2004, 05:35:41 PM »
I use Zone Alarm Pro (ZAP).

Usually I have few problems with this program and Aces trying to access the net.  However, if I set up a server for H2H, noone seems able to connect to my game.  I have discovered a substantial number of blocked access attempts to UDP port 3004.  After enabling access to UDP port 3004, the access alert messages no longer occur, however noone seems to be able to connect to my server still.  Is there anyone that can help me configure the firewall so that Aces H2H will work with it?  When I disable the firewall, anyone can connect to me.  So, it HAS to be ZAP.

Thanks

Russ

Aces High uses a random subset of ports in the range of 2000-5000 for YCP and UDP.  Open that port range.

It should not be a security risk as there is nothing Windows runs in that port range, so nothing can connect to them anyways.

XP Pro uses 3389 for remote access. No exploits of that I am aware of though.
