Batz, I'm curious as to whether diving really does extinguish the flames or not.
I seem to recall people saying that in high speed dives, the airflow pushes the oxygen out of contact so it temporarily puts out the fire, but it would start burning again when the dive stopped - is this true?
Anyhow, I'd love to see that in AH.. it's really cool watching that happen in AEP..
Once, I shot a Ki-84 at the wingroot and it bursted into flame. I foolishly took for granted that it meant a kill, and merrily strolled away. The flames died out on the Ki-84, and it turned back and shot me down unawares
Maybe I only set some hydraulic fluids on fire..
