Gents

The Russians were to defend 4 targets and attack one. They successfully attacked the barges just east of Port 41 for 200 points. They also had 93 kills (14 were Ju88’s). Ten points for each single engine AC and 15 for each Ju-88.

200 + 820 + 210 = 1230 points total

The Axis (Finish Air Force and the Luftwaffe) were to defend one target and attack four.  They were to attack the Murmansk train, Petroskiy truck convoy, the Njadoma truck convoy and the Mergino town. The train, both truck convoys were totally destroyed. Mergino village was 95% destroyed. Two hundred points for each target and 190 points for the town for 790 points. Axis also had 52 kills for 520 points.
790 + 520 = 1310 points

For all practical purposes this frame was a draw. The Axis were able successfully destroy all their targets but at a very heavy cost.

Frame two will flip the coin and put the Axis side on the defense while the Allied side goes on the offence.

On a personal note to the squad that caught all the Stuka’s on the way to the Murmansk train. You killed about 18 of us. It was a slaughter despite the efforts of our escorts. I think there were just too many of them. Were you guys on your way to attack the barges? They were Hurr II's. I managed to ditch (last screen shot) after a Hurr took off my left wheel and shot out my engine. We still had a couple of guys make it near the train but then some La5’s were waiting there. With our 2nd life we came back with 190’s and destroyed the train and mixed it up with some Hurr II’s and La5’s.

Gents

Here are some screen shots from last night.

The squad at Murmansk was the 68th Lightning Lancers all in Hurricane IIC and the Marine Air Wing in LA5FN's. There assignment was to protect the Mermank Supply train. Unfortunately I missed the whole fight. While typing to Stream of the 325th FG Checkertails, one of you gentlemen slid in on my six and began a massive redisgn of my Hurricane.

The attack on the tug boat and barge convoy was assigned to and carried out with success by the Nightmares VMF 101.

The Birds of Prey, Arabian Knights, III/Jabostaffle, Fate and the 325th FG are all invaluable assets and executed there missions with distinction.

Skull and the Axis for a fun night

Salute to everyone who participated.  We had a  great time.  Two targets destroyed, and still landed 4 flights of Ju88's.  We were playing hide and seek at the end.  We went straight down the East side of the map, then followed the bottom edge of the map back to A3.  Was anyone still looking for us?

Not really, if it wasn't you it would have been someone else. Like Daddog said it is not uncommon for the CO to take a ride on the silk highway:)
