Head position in Spit
« on: May 04, 2004, 05:39:48 PM »
Hi:

I use a custom perspective for each airplane, setting forward the head of the virtual-pilot a certain distance, to give mi sights the correct amplitude in mils, for each plane. This is a tedious labor, as each plane needs to be set by trial and error, and cheke each time with a sight pattern... many hours.

This method is possible for almost all airplanes represented, ecept for the Spits, ...and this is the main cause I never fly Spits... I can not set my sights correctly.

This was a bug already present in AH-1 long time ago, that remained for many versions until nowadays.... but please... fix it in AH-2 at least.

Thank you.

Maybe I did not explain myself correctly (language barrier here)

I mean that in all AH airplanes, except the Spits (all versions), the pilot head can be moved forward to almost touching the instrument panel.

This is not possible in Spits.... I suspect that the COPY & PASTE was precisely what HTC designers did.. very same bug in two completely different versions of the game.

Maybe is not important to somebody, but it is very annoying to me, unless somebody comes with a system in which the size of the gunsight remains constant (with the right proportions) regarding the position of the head of the pilot, as in real life.

Shooting in air combat is of the most importance.

This is the RIGHT perspective for the P-51D in AH2 (K-14 gunsight with a 50 mils inner circle and 100 mils outer circle here) and a F6F-5 with Mk.8 gunsight, possible from almost all fighters, but impossible to get in the Spits:

Ok... pretty nice trick.

Please tell me how to do it, because the picture I include is the closest my AH copy does.

I am talking here about HEAD MOVEMENT, not zoom.
