Gauges that look like glass
« on: May 17, 2004, 08:52:46 AM »
Did some messing around with the gauges in AH2. Can we submit them along/seperate from our planes or are the gauges off limits?

Anyhow, here's a modified spit cockpit.

Unfortunately, we wouldn't be able to accept that.  Not that it doesn't look nice in your screenshot or that it's something we don't want.  We do plan to put that effect on the gauges, but the way to do that is with a glass alpha.  If it's just faux painted on the face of the gauge, it won't look right in different lighting conditions and the needle will sometimes look like it's on the outside of the glass.  So hang in there and we'll get to it.  Your skin is looking pretty nice.

OK pyro, I was wondering if you guys were going to use a glass Alpha or avoid it due to the frames it eats up. I won't waste anymore time painting gauge backgrounds.

Thanks.
