Let see if I have this right. Teenagers are smart enough to vote. But not smoke, drink or get a TAN ??????

SACRAMENTO, Calif. (AP) - A state famous for tanned bodies and year-round sunshine would be the nation's first to ban teenagers from artificial tanning booths if a bill passed Thursday by the state Assembly becomes law.

Quote
"There is a big difference between going to the beach and a tanning salon," said the bill's author, Assemblyman Joe Nation, a Democrat. "When kids go to the beach they put on sun screen."

Hahahhahahahhahahah. Where do you folks in Cal find these people? Is there a manufacturing plant pumping them out or is it because of the water.

I was going to say that maybe requiring authorization from the parent might be the way to go, but apparently that is already the law in CA.

==============================

In California, there is the Filante Tanning Facility Act of 1988.

The law requires anyone between 14 and 18 to bring a note from his or her parent in order to get a tan. Parents are required to accompany any child under 14 who wants to use a tanning booth.

I'm not so sure this is to protect kids from skin cancer so much as to protect kids from spending their money foolishly.

the only thing you can be sure of is that it is a democrat that thought it up and it will be democrats that vote for it.

If you like California politics then vote for kerry.   Or.... just go move back in with your mom.
