IL2 Crash Russia
« on: June 27, 2004, 06:07:06 AM »
Caught the end of a news story, saying a warbird (IL2) crashed into some apartments near moscow yesterday. Anyone know anything more about this story?

If it was a IL2 great shame as didn't even know there were any in flyable condition.

Don't think it was an IL2....1940's a/c was the report...but pretty sad anyway.

What makes me angry is the behaviour of the people who's house was crashed by Li-2. They didn't even help to get the bleeding pilot out of the plane  And they now want to stop any flights from Myachkovo. Rich bastards. They payed huge sums of money for the land in a "prestigious" place, and have built their stupid "new russian" ugly "palaces" right at the end of the runway! Now they try to sue the airfield for the damage... Damn. 4 people died...

The pilot managed to cut off fuel lines... Otherwise - 1400kg of petrol... He died in an ambulance car :(

Bloody "new russians" from that houses said that planes "bother" them... They even shot flares at some planes taking off...

Boroda same problem here, people build houses at ends of runways that been here for 50 years and then start complaining. Their houses should be bulldozed and they should be processed into cheese
