HT fuel/Alt probs for some planes
« on: August 03, 2004, 12:59:09 PM »
HT some of the planes have a fuel bug that when u get to 30k, fuel drops to 0 and ur out of fuel.

i know for fact ju88s and A20s do this. and have had squad mates say some other planes also have the bug.

I didn't think the Ju88 could GET to 30k, and my best guess at the A20 would be about 25-27k, max.

What is their operational ceiling? Maybe its meant to do that, because any higher than that you'll be needing a B-52

No, when a plane reaches its ceiling the engine produces lesss and less power, and you slow down, and you need higher speed to stay level (thinner air) so you end up stalling out when your engine drops to the point where your wing can't produce enough lift.

At least that's how it happens in AH, at any rate.

I think this is the "fuel tanks explode due to unequalized pressure" phenomenon modeled into AH2. The manual repressurization valve control has not been put in to the cockpits yet... probably another few patches til they get around to that.
