Thinking of an experment. #2

To see what happens, am considering locking all in threads in the General Discussion ,for a week if any of the following apear.


1. Any flame of some ones post, not a counter discusion, but a flame. Also flame baits.

2. Any personal attacks.

3. A whine, not a suggest ,critisim or view, but the over the top stuff.


What do you guys think is it worth a try to see if it changes the general flavor?

Don't experiment,... just DO IT.

I think you should also show a willingness to perma ban.

Bans are not going to work unless you enforce all posters have the same name as they have in AH. More accountability and less random of the multiple account flamers that enjoy their anonymity.

Until that happens, bans, locking threads, and perm-bans are simply a paper tiger.

I join the chorus saying this is good idea.

One suggestion -- if a thread gets locked, how about a last post with the offender's ID. This would:
1) Add to the "peer pressure" effect
2) Work like clarifying the umpire's call -- give everyone a good idea of where the strike zone is gonna be called.

All very true, maybe it should head that direction, though. Much like AW was, your CPID is used in everything.

The draw back would be that people who don't have an account prolly wouldn't be able to post there,..... not sure. But you are right.
