Getting lousy FPS...
« on: September 03, 2004, 07:13:23 PM »
My system is:
Athlon XP 3000+ 400 Mhz FSB
GeForce 6800GT 256 MB DDR3
1 Gig DDR Ram
Windows XP Home SP1
Sound Blaster Live 5.1

I'm not sure whats going on, but I cant seem to get AH2 to run decently. Every other game I play I can just max the settings with 4 or 8x FSAA and still easily hold 40 FPS or more. AH2 i'm hovering around 20-30 on the ground with low settings. Any ideas?

I have XP2800 + FX9500 Ultra, so my system is slower.

If I run 1024 textures and full graphics I get 20 fps and 1-2 saecond freazups during game.

To get playable frame rates I have to drop the texture size to 128 and use default detail levels in the game.

Don't know why this is tho. But try dropping the textures down to 128 and go from there.

If you have all the fancy driver's installed for that SB live 5.1 ya have, I hear thats a huge CPU rescource eater.  Try running
the SB live with drivers that windows installs for you when
you put in the card.
