Best guns list...(?)

I Have been quite much testing the guns lately.. and here are some of my opinions which are the best (I dont include 30mm here though, its about its own class..):

#1 Hispano
#2 .50cal
#3 Type 99 (or what was that 800 yards killer gun)
#4 MG151/20

With Hispano, i've been wrecking up planes with some shots..
.50 caliber has been quite a gun, chews up every part with slight squeeze on the trigger from 500 yards (not to talk about being accurate with laser velocity)
N1K2 guns seems to tear apart lotsa parts from range(!!), at least one hit from them beoynd 800 yards and plane loses some part (in my own testing, ive been hitting planes from 800-900 yards, saw 1-2 hits, theyve lost part or begun smoking)
Mg151/20.. it seems to be quite a peashot sometimes, at least so it feels when fills up the enemy from 300 yards with 10 hits..

Most of all, best gun for 500 yards shooting were .50 caliber and Hispano, worst were MG151/20.. and best for +700 yards were N1K2s and Hispano.


One funny thing there came up though..
When I were doing B-17 shooting with 109 from 700-850 yards, it seemed to go down with less hits than from close.
(note: shooting from that distance disperses bullets alot, and hits alot wider area, but shooting close, hits certain area alot, even because of that I felt more easier to shoot down b17s down from +700 yards)

Maybe its just me or theres some funny things happening when bullet has flown +700 yards.

My favourite gun is MK 108. Of course, there is no point in shooting with it at ranges greater than 300 yards.

But if you get to 100 yards and ping someone with it, the fireworks is very rewarding.

Hispanos are for Quakers

Dedushka Fishu,
ShVAK 20mm cannons are fine weapons too.  I've always been happy with the two of them in the nose of my Lavochka.

La-5 guns sure are great, but due they are low velocity cannons it is for me almost impossible to hit with deflection shooting.
My gunnery went a lot up after changed 109G-2  
Well, I've tried to abandon those high deflection shots and perhaps it makes my gunnery up, dunno.

The ShVAK 20mm cannon fires at a higher muzzle velocity than a MG151/20.  Also, a higher cyclic rate of fire, if I'm not mistaken.  And it doesn't matter which shell you use for the MG151/20, bomber or fighter.

Cool data!  That explains a few things, like why the Spit cannons seem so deadly.  I wouldn't have guessed they had a muzzle velocity higher than a .50 Cal.

I would like to see where the P47 would fit into that list.

So that was the gun I forgot
Anyway.. wouldn't had much opinions on it, because I haven't tried La-5 enough lately.

Juzz: seems like N1K2 gun is bit more boosted up than should huh? (hmm, out of 20mm, shouldnt the one with greater velocity be better at 800 yards than the one with lowest almost..)

Hmm.. did someone say that La-5FN had something to do with low velocity cannon? seems quite high velocity to me..

Peashooter is my favorite, no worries for long distance. Use REAL life tactics, WWII Aces "when you think your close, go in closer". Well said, I can stick my head out my cockpit, distract you with my pea and watch you go in to a death stall!

Oh, I was wrong,I see...
OK, OK, I can't shoot!  
Perhaps I just took too much lead for my shots in La-5 as I thought they were low velocity things.

Darn, according to juzz's table G-2 really sux in every aspect, but it is great target, tho and it has those lovely finnish swastikas
