Radeon X800 XT

Anyone else checked one of these out yet? Wow what a card. We often here the marketing blurb that it's "twice as fast" as current generation and is often false. But this beast really is twice as fast.

Installed and overclocked into a computer at and it was churning out 50fps in the Far Cry benchmark. Far Cry benchmark is rather intense and brings down some "other" recent cards to their knees getting 50fps is really something.

We didn't try it out in any other benchmarks but from other reports in Quake 3 it gets around 350fps and thats in 1600x1200

FS2004 of all things ran like a dream on the highest details with max traffic (and that's alot of traffic with Ultimate Traffic installed at 100%) terrain, weather (vis distance 60mls) and only dropped to around 20fps at the biggest and busiest airports.

Althought didn't really have enough time to try it out in full in FS2004 was just a quick look and fly around.

Although it would be overkill and a waste to purcahse soley for AH2 if your into sims like FS2004 and LOMAC it's the card to get. Amazing performance and for the first time a new card that's a significant jump and worth the new $$ price imho.

Hope to have one by the end of next week and do some more testing, maybe even overlcock :D

Oh, bench system was mine.

looking forward to your review of it. ive been thinking about getting that card myself for use with ah2, doom3, ah2, stalker and dangerous waters. biggest problem will be finding the time to play them all.

I own the X800XT. Was getting 700+FR in AH one time, even tho I was not see'ing it due to monitor. It is one incredable card and I'd recommend it to anyone.

Was just checking Ebay, (probably not the best place to buy these), and there seems to be a lot of different versions of this card, from $400.00 up to $800.00+

Is ther much difference in the various versions?
