for the screen shots and update. Those look really nice. You answered several questions about why it took so long and what we can expect in the near future. :)

I am quite pleased with how it looks! :)

Thanks Pyro, HTC.  The news and screen shots are very much appriciated.  Heck, I might even have an internet connection at home by the time it gets released.

I sure hope so because I really want to kill an La-7 with the Ki-84.

Is there some technical limitation that stops you putting more elaborate canopy framing in? Seems the part we all see the most of still looks stretched like 1999 did.

Pyro, am I to understand the Ki-84 is being designed with new graphical modelling concepts that will be retro-applied to all of our existing planes over time as well? If so, will the current menu of skins still work on the updated models or will we have to start from scratch?

Great thanks Skuzzy. But, will the old skins work with the new texture mapping, Pyro said something about the new way being easier to skin, but will it be backwards compatable with the skins already made? I'm only curious because I am working on some skins right now and don't want to waste anymore time if they will not be compatable with the new plane texture graphic method.

Zaz, that is going to depend on which plane you are skinning for. if the skin you are making will use any mirrored surfaces then it will HAVE to change for the new format. They are going to have to have all surfaces in the 1024X1024 box in order to not have anything mirrored (like in IL2), I don't know of any current skins that have that.

Skins will not be backwards compatible with new models from what I understand.
